P5K Deluxe: 500FSB / 4GHz on a QX6700 Air Cooled!
A friend of my bought a Asus PK5 Deluxe, after I read some post about this mobo (specially the great and detailed EVA2000 tests
) I was kind curious to see how far can this new board / chipset go with my retail QX6700, so I ask him to let me try the mobo.
In the past the maximum FSB I achieved with this QX6700 was around 460 on a P5B Dlx and 440 on 680i SLI revision D00 (A1).
As usual I mounted the QX6700 with a TuniqTower and the Corsairs 8500C5.
Here is a photo:

After some very basic Bios config, here is what I got:

To my suprise, it runs 4 simultaneous SuperPI's (Core0, 1, 2, 3) with the FSB set at 500Mhz, 4.000Mhz 4 Cores speed and the memory at respectable DDR 1200 4-4-4 ...realy nice
And..

The usual 4Core CineBench wtih a very respectable score for air: 10 secs.
The memory bandwith measured with Everest also not bad at all..

A quick 06 run, but the very hot weather here does not help to pass the CPU test at more decent speed ..anyway this is not to bad for a all Air Cooled system with around 28ºC ambient temperature (need to move to Finland for better air cooled results
)

And finaly, although not a quad core optimized bench, here is a result of my favorite bench

I must say that I am quite positively impressed with the new P35 "Bearlake" chipset and with Asus P5K Deluxe, for high FSB / OCer lovers with QuadCores seems really the best motherboard currenlty available in the stores.!!
Two negative points :does not support SLI with 8800's / layout have a serious flaw: the SATA ports are just besides the PCIe1, so is almost impossible to use more than 2 SATA drives with a 8800 Ultra or other lengthly video card.
If I can keep this mobo for the rest of the weekend I may post more results ..
