    Tuniq vs Infinity Round two!!!

    ORIGINAL THREAD

alright guys, after having many people complain about the test not being fair...I did a few things to make this more of an apples to apples comparison. Im shocked how much of an improvment the tuniq can obtain from lapping, extra fans, and adding some thermal paste around the top of the base. Here are some images:

INITIAL Lapping Process: the finish was perfect except for two small areas which barely come in contact with the cpu that no metter how much I lapped, they wouldnt sand smooth. Im pretty sure they didnt make much difference though...the image does NOT reflect how the finished heatsink looks..

I popped the top off and smothered thermal paste everywhere. This picture shows where its probably having the greatest effect. I added some more later.

Made sure the mount was super tight, both the bracket & motherboard are bending from the pressure.

Added a yate at full speed for the case exhaust this time, and taped on the same at the front of the tuniq.

when the tuniq fan was at is lowest setting, the two yate loons made the noise comparable to the modded scythe infinity. The verdict?

    TIE

this is with the tuniq fan rulling @ full, in addition to the yates.

looks like both coolers offer the same performance once modded. The full fan speed of the tuniq is WAAYYY louder than I can stand, so in order for it to perform well at low speeds, additional fans are needed. Hope this cleared up any skepticism from my oroginal review.
