Peg buffer, link, latency, root etc for nvidia sli on 975 chipset?

Im using a Asus P5WDG2 WS Professional motherboard. and 2 7900gtx video cards in sli mode with the moded driver it works great, every know and then i do see some video drop out while playing oblivion 1/10th of a second black screen then back to normal. i started playing with the following settings in bios and it SEEMS to be making a difference but i was wondering if any of you gurus really knew what these settings do and what they shoud be set at for nvidia cards on a 975 chipset. here are the settings in bios.

Peg Buffer Length: auto, long, short

    Link Latency: Auto, slow, normal

Peg Root Control: Auto, Disbable, Enable

Peg Link Mode: Auto, slow, normal, fast, faster

Pci Express Slot Power: Auto, Light, Normal, Heavy, Heavier.

Leaving these settings to auto do NOT seem to be whats best for an Nvidia SLI configuration but i have no imperical evidience to back that up.
    Thanks
    Lee

BTW One of these settings seems to have made a big difference in my gpu temps. (for the better im running about 64c not as compared to 74c when everything was set to auto and i ran a 3d mark 06 test after the bios settings change and the difference was 75 points slower.. i believe thats within the margin of error for 3dmark 06 i ran an 11,574.
    Thanks Lee
