Uncleans '2-way' DD unit
I feel bad about making Unclean wait so long for his unit, but he's been patient about it, and it's just about there.
The spec...
MPT12LA Electrolux high efficiency compressor
Chilly1 Head
Dimas black custom case
7.5' of .028" captube
Johann's black condensor (2 row)
Value Froster (to be installed)
Astek 12v/5v PSU
12v Panaflo M's at 10v
Mach2 type line heater at 12v
402a gas
It would have been done a while ago, but I was thinking I would just do a cheap 'budget temp probe' solution for him so he'd be able to read the temps and boot when it was ready, but the probes were pretty bad for phase, ranging from -20 limits on the new ones, to just not working at all on the older ones.
So that's out the door and I'll be installing a new Value Froster on this one.
It's 2-way for an interesting reason. See, he want's to install this one on the top of an Eclipse case (will get pics of that later on) but there's a hole precut on these cases. Besides that, later on it's nice to be able to change it to a 'normal' setup and that means modding the whole unit to deal with it.
So this is what it ended up as, and soon will have pics of the froster in, and that case install as well...
The unit

At the back, start cap, Astek 12v PSU, the suction 'curl'

Up front, and compressor shot

There you can see how it runs down as well. The flexi starts near the end of that bend, so it can run both up and down

Cooling down

That's the probe I was going to use. It's getting chopped and the Froster wired in, but the display will be in one of the cases bezels at his request.

Yes, that's what it looks like. Fully charged for 200w and no load better than -65
Between the 402a and the sweet compressor it's pulling temps low like mad. A bit late to set up the load tester tonight, but will get pics of that too
I think the MPT series of Electrolux kind of takes off where the NL series stopped for Danfoss. It's noisier, granted, a little noisier than the vapo compressor is, but it pulls the low side down harder than most I've ever used. Definitly high on my list for powerhouse compressors
So really all that's left is to cut the lower plate, finish up the insulation after the final load test, and install the Value froster.
Everyone loves a nice icy shot

So I hope he likes how it's turning out, and the final pics and all that to be added here soon
Cheers
