Am I the only person to do the volt mods?
I've come to a couple conclusions, the Vdimm volt mods work very well. The VGpu however... is very... touchy... it "sort of" works. But it does not bring enough stability to run high GPU clocks for reliable gaming. I've had to push it down to 460/1500 for World of Warcraft, FEAR, BF2, etc. Otherwise the dreaded blackscreen happens after 15-30 minutes of play.
The 7800GS cores are just rejects that couldn't cut it as GTs or GTXs.
Kin Hell, it's not PSU issues, the 12v rail on my PSU idle/load is 12.11/12.08v with everything attached (PC P&C Turbo Cool.) I think the sound is just the card's coils screaming for a lower clockspeed.
Also, I got rid of the cold bug by disabling temperature monitoring in the BIOS using Nibitor 2.8 and NvFlash 5.30 . BTW don't play with the delta if you do flash, it makes the card more unstable.
I don't think this card is very good for OCing at all. But I guess it is fast enough as it is.
