775 insulation?
Well, hopefully it won't be too much longer now til I see my Chilly1 kit. I've searched and done a lot of reading and am probably more confused than I was before
I am looking for 775 mobo insulation in general, not necessarily for Chilly1's kit, but that would be nice. Yes, I read the sticky 100x already, but am looking for info specific to the 775 boards. If you have pics, let's see them!
Some people have reported problems filling DEG in the 775 socket and I saw somewhere that Vapochill recommends NOT using DEG in the 775 socket at all. Skip the DEG in the socket, maybe just DEG coat the pins/SMTs with a brush for corrosion protection (not fill the entire socket) or don't use any at all?
Seal tape: some don't use it at all, some use so much it just looks like slots sticking out of a tar pit. In the sticky (Chilly1s unit), no tape was used at all. I was planning on using either just enough tape to cover around the bottom of the donut OR not use tape at all and just run a bead of DEG around the bottom of the donut for a good seal to the board. What do you think?
Closed cell foam/neoprene: does anyone use it with phase around the socket instead of seal tape or is it not good enough? If you look at the pic of my TEC insulation below, it's a simple closed cell gasket that is double-sided taped (the thin stuff, not the foam) to the mobo with DEG filled between it and the socket. I had zero condensation problems. If I did similar for phase (with a wider gasket to meet the donut), would something like this suffice?

TECs don't run anywhere near a cold as phase, so I am not sure how "much" is enough. Some people say if you know what you are doing, no extra steps are necessary other than making sure the evap is sealed around the socket and then there's the "200%" sure people that glue in plastic sheets and would stick dehumidifiers in their cases if they had the chance
People with 775 socket phase experience and no condensation, please tell/show me what YOU did...
I should note that 1) I have already done 2 coats of silicone conformal coating each on the front and back of the board to be phased, 2) insulation on the back of the board is a no brainer and 3) this is my daily machine.
Thanks!
