    Exclamation X800XTPE repair

I have a Sapphire AGP X800XTPE here which artifacts straight from bootup. I was clocking it under DI a few days ago but I had a lot of trouble with voltage fluctuations, then finally sometimes it would artifact and then drop the screen or sometimes just plain go blank (in BIOS or Windows). I removed the vgpu mod, but I'm still having trouble. I think at least PART of the problem comes from this: when I check vgpu it reads 1.00v Is there anyway I can fix this? It *should* be around 1.4-1.45v I think for stock. I would be pleased as punch if someone could help me repair this, as RMA is out of the question and it doesn't look like the guy who sold it to me is happy with the situation (says it was working fine when he mailed it, and I believe him, just dunno wtf is wrong).

    Thanks guys!

Try removing R1597 and soldering a 10K VR in its place set at 1.7K and play around with it, see if you can get the voltage to return, if not then i would be guessing something more is wrong Keep R1597 so you can solder it back on it this doesnt work.

I think you may have fixed it!!!!!

Well first time I booted up my PC made a longer beep than normal, and there was no video at all although it actually loaded Windows and everything, I could tell through my speakers.. Just took the card out and reseated it, and I got video typing from the X800 right now. Read 1.34-1.35v with that 10K set to 1.70K Got it sitting at 1.41v right now, idle in the 30C's and load in 40C's.

I have yet to test it under big strain (lots of volts + dry ice), let's hope it keeps working

But thanks man, I really do owe you one

Yes it is Ron Typing from it right now. And if you check the 3D section, you'll see that I was able to use it to break 40K on Socket 754 last night Nice resurrection IMO
