At last - A wonder chip!

Well, not since I managed to get an AXIAR 1000 "K" up to 1800mhz on air have I found a wonder chip. That was now nearly 2 years ago.

Well ive found one again. Ive picked up now my third XP2100 AIUHB 0250. My first chip did 2133mhz @ 1.6v (default) which was a pretty impressive turn out. It was a brown package chip. Having seen other people hit these clocks though it struck me that the chip was nothing but average (maybe even slightly below average). So I picked up a second. This one was slightly better, same code, same colour package and did 2166mhz @ default volts. I didnt bother posting about it as it was not significantly better than the first to require a new thread. However, now I think ive hit the magic chip. Its taken me to the edge of my air cooling ability (alpha 8045!) while using DEFAULT VOLTS. Absolutely incredible. Its another AUIHB0250 '9' but this time is in the Green package format.

With this new chip I have booted at 2500mhz using DEFAULT VOLTS.

I have been prime proofing at 2250 overnight using -0.025 below default volts (1.58v) and it was still going this morning. Incredible!

As I bump up the speed and vcore I will continue to update this thread with screenshots, but for now I'll merely tempt you with this :

Nice speed on air. I wondered what you were doing up at 7am on a Saturday morning browsing the forum

These new AIUHB 2100+s are making my AIUCB Xp2400 at 2200@1.85v stable look a bit sick Did you get it from your trade source in the UK or from a standard online reseller ? Normally we get stuff which is fairly old, week wise.

I hope this new found overclockability is taken over to Barton, it should be, they are charging enough for them.

    Regards

    Andy

No nothing special - just a standard online reseller m8 .

Given that getting stunning chips is just pure luck I figured what the hell and just bought the cheapest one I could find .

    Next step....

One thing wierd tho, you get 50Âșc temps with 1.6v and a 2.9k rpm...uhh not very good

Hmm, temps do look a bit high like Rudzer said, but they are load temps by the looks of it. Still a very good chip by the looks of it!

    Hello all,

Been reading these threads for a few days now. Just like to say nice one.
At last some excellent chips are appearing for peeps who just use good aircooling :p

    Yo PiLsY
Which on line retailer did u get ya chip from. Ive got a friend looking out for some of these chips at computer fairs but if you could pass the info on to me I may look into gettin one online.
How much did you pay for it also, im gonna have to shift some gear depending on the price.

    excellent overclock, happy for ya

    Just a brief history.

first chip was a tbird 1.4 highest overclock managed to just hit 1.8
second chip XP1700 Palomino highest overclock 1935 mhz
third chip XP2200 tbred -A terrible overclocker @ only 2050mhz
    4th chip XP1700+ tbred-A highest overclock 1989 mhz

All these overclocks have been on air. I have a thermal glaciator II with a Delta screamer on. Good cooling IMO. Got a variable resistor connected to it though so i dont have to hear the Delta 24/7

Shops you may want to try for B stepping Tbred 2100's are :

    www.tekheads.co.uk
    www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk
    http://security.cclcomputers.co.uk/acatalog/
    www.overclockedpc.co.uk

Temps are not too bad considering I have only 1 2000rpm case fan and that was after a solid 12 hours of load via prime.

19c above case temp after 12 hours of full load and a silent pc...

    Well im not complaining .

This cpu does seem to be running hotter than the brown 2100's I used though. By maybe 4c or so under full load?

Ive hit a problem now though in that it freezes in prime at anything over 2300mhz no matter what voltage.

My bets are on this damned 8RDA+. Possibly the PSU since ive swapped the original Enhance 460 out and am now running an HEC 425watt (true wattage only 350 though).

More playing over the next few days to try and solve it.

    Cheers man,

Sorry to hear you are stuck at 2300mhz, im looking into gettin the 8RDA+ but have seen the issues many people are dealing with.

Are you not able to tell me the store you got YOUR chip from?
The links you have posted I already have access to plus many more

But i wanted to specifically know where you got your chip from.

Hope all goes well for you

I got it from CCL .

I listed a few as these things are going like hotcakes. If its your first order from CCL then it will be 2 - 3 working days before your order is confirmed as they fraud check all their first customers. This may mean you miss the current stock.

All the above listed shops have the XP2100 Tbred B in stock now, so I thought id list em all .

    PiLsY.

[EDIT] Looks like CCL are sold out. Tekheads would be the best bet after them. Ive never been too impressed with OCS service. A few times theyve told me one stepping cpu and sent another, then claiming they dont guarantee steppings. Best avoided unless a last resort. OCPC get their cpu stock off tekheads.

CCl wow, yes ive dealt with them a few times be4,
    Thats very suprising!!!

Im gonna wait to see if my friend finds anything at a computer fair in nottingham tomorrow. If he dont then looks like i will be indulging in some online shopping

After this abysmal xp2200 tbred, i need something nice in my system.

Where you able to get any sort of confirmation from them about the stepping, or was it hit and miss.
Have you not got another mobo there, which you could try it on. It seems strange that you cannot get over 2300mhz seeing you could get to that at default voltages. Im having second thoughts about gettin the epox brd. Alot of peeps seem to be having problems which epox are keeping quite about

Hope you make a breakthrough with da chip

I've bought 3 CPU's from CCL, first two were palimino AGOIA cores and the other one was a Tbred 2400+ which was AIUGB, still both very good steppings.

Not without taking the alpha off which is a right pain in the arse .

    Heres the main parts...

    AIUHB 0250 '9'

Dont think any of the other bits matter tbh.

I'll pull the heatsink off and post the full stepping up when I replace the PSU .
