    G.Skill died on me? :?

This afternoon when I did a reboot all of a sudden my system wouldn't post anymore. D-Bracket told me that my ram was the problem. After some testing I concluded that one stick of my PC4400 LE dual set was broken...

Can anybody tell me how this could happen? See my sig for the further specs of my system. (Max Vdimm was set to 2.85V.)

It's a relatively new set, so I'm RMA'ing it, but still I find it strange that it just died on me like this...

    Hi OPB,

Yes, I tried them one at a time. One stick works just fine while the other one seems to have completely died on me... (no post)

    Any ideas?

Does anybody know if the G.skill forum has died since Jack left? I can't seem to get a reply of any kind... What's going on?

Pretty sad.... G.Skill had so much going for them and now.....

I still have yet to hear a peep from G.Skill about an RMA on a gig of ram that was bad from the start.

I've seen this situation many many times with my dealings with companies from China/Taiwan. They start out great, go down hill, vanish from the face of the Earth overnight and then the owners start a new company under a different name and pull the same crap. Usually they are just marketing companies that buy stuff from OEM/ODM's and sell as much volume as possible then go under on purpose to repeat the cycle under a different marketing company name. Not saying Gskill is doing this, but it definitely has all the typical signs/symptoms of it.

I'd like to know if you here anything from Gskill.

That might be taking it a bit far... I was 100% satisfied with my mem and the company before this happend so I wouldn't go that far ahead and call them just a clever marketing company. I still have high hopes of getting a new stick without to much trouble, but even so I don't think they are providing the 100% service that they claim to give (anymore?).

Anyway, I'll let you know if I hear anything from them!

Please post on how everything goes for you... I'm curious on how good Gskill is when it comes to support and RMA...
Might be nice though we have OPB to answer our questions. However, one of the reasons no one buys PDP here that much anymore is cos of the horror stories of their RMA and support so hopefully OPB can clear this up
