    A64 Newcastle 3000+ @ 2900mhz! Stock air!

Sorry to break it to you guys but its a suicide screeny! I'm terribly excited because I've never dreamed of having an AMD system that would do 2900mhz on stock air (even if it is a suicide shot). Its cold 30-ish degree air and its stable enough to browse windows.

I'll get you guys a screenshot of cpu-z/temps once I'm able to pull it off the hard drive later tonight. It's with the system in my sig.

    w00t!

    2900mhz

    2920mhz

This is stock air, standard case fan, with the case sitting in the windows opened up. Its about 30F outside right now.

Scary voltage I know. They were quick up and down screenies. I'll push it harder once I have my chilled watercooling setup finished.

wow.. at first i thought it was a winnie that you had that voltage on and i about craped myself. now seeing that its .13nm that isnt too extreme. the fx55 guys do that every day.

as blinky said past 2.2 is extreme.. i had my mobile axp up to 2.3 on my nf7s

I will NOT take it any higher at all on this cooling. My temps were pretty good though.

With chilled water do you guys think I could pull 3ghz (screeny) and 2.8ghz stable? I can do 2680mhz stable at the moment.

    HS removed?

my 3000+ only does 2600 @1.69V SuperPi stable and i don`t know if it can take much more VCore
(what do you think is max VCore for a Newcastle watercooled?)

I think on a decent chiller you'd get 2.9GHz stable if you gave it a bit more voltage.
    Nice work, though.

Nope, don't want to destroy the warranty ATM. This is my 3rd chip as the last two from Newegg were no post, DOA. I just don't have the $$ for a new chip if this one died for any reason and I had removed the heatspreader.

Here is the info from the CPU.

Ocing kills the warranty anyways, also if you cant afford to buy a new one i wouldnt suggest running suicide shots like that

*Generic Codegen 400w PSU -- to be replaced soon

Be very careful with this ("PSU") Replace it as soon as you have the money for anything better.
And ontopic - CONGRATS ! Impressive results.

Yep, worst PSU I've ever used. That's my next purchase once I manage the to get the funds. This one is so bad that if I plug in a LED 80mm fan the computer will randomly reboot.
