    Cool Powercolor X800XT PE Adventures

    I managed to pick up a rare Powercolor X800XT PE AGP card locally It's stock speed is 520/560 according ATI Tool and idle and load GPU temps from ATI Tool = 36-39C idle and 64-68C load.

    Front side has Samsung 419 GC16 chips, Backside has Samsung 422 GC16 chips heh

    I used initially Omega 8.07 drivers then Cat 4.11 official. The Omega still was ~100pts faster in 3dmark2003 than Cat 4.11 for my card and faster in 3dmark2001 too. But here's a full set of 3dmarks using Cat 4.11 drivers at stock cpu speeds with my gaming OS image.

    AMD64 3700+
    DFI NF3 250Gb 05/10/04 4v bios
    2x 512MB KHX3200/512 BH-5 @ 200mhz 2-2-2-6 1T
    120GB WD 1200JB
    LiteOn LDW-411s burner
    580W Topower Adjustable PSU

    Win2k SP4 fully loaded gaming OS image

    Powercolor X800XT PE connected with OCZ VGA Enhanced power lead/molex

    3dmark2001 = 29,147 vs Omega 8.07 score of 29,243
    3dmark2003 = 14,033
    3dmark05 = 6,704

    Looks pretty good. Can you do us Powercolor VIVO owners a favor, and see what your stock vgpu is? Thanx. Setting a VIVO at your voltage probly won't matter, but still, it would let us know what normal XT PE voltage should be.

    Just took my DMM to it and if I'm reading it correctly it's 1.405v on GPU.

    Thanx. Interesting, it seems they use the same vgpu for all cards, pretty much. If they don't pass testing @ 1.4v, they throw them in the VIVO pile.

    yeah ocs on stock cooler

    Kanavit, personally i prefer X800XT PE over 6800U

    1. more control over managing GPU idle/load temps - you can do more to reduce these temps without extreme cooling i.e. zalman fan bracket + fan over card does wonders

    2. X800XT PE much easier on my PSU than 6800U

    3. Image quality on X800XT PE for me is better than 6800U

    4. OCAU members 7 of us ordered from the same batch of Asus 6800U, only 2 or 3 of us came out with a good card, 4 or 5 buyers had to rma their Asus 6800U, and after a month or two some were sent back the same card saying they tested it fine with no problems - but the problems persist i.e. severe artifacting at stock speeds etc etc

    Okay some FarCry v1.3 patched benchmarks

    AMD64 3700+ 12x 200 = 2411mhz stock
    DFI NF3 250Gb 05/10/04 4v bios
    2x 512MB KHX3200/512 BH-5 @ 200mhz 2-2-2-6 1T
    120GB WD 1200JB
    LiteOn LDW-411s burner
    580W Topower Adjustable PSU

    Win2k SP4 fully loaded gaming OS image

    Powercolor X800XT PE connected with OCZ VGA Enhanced power lead/molex

    Using HardwareOC Farcry Bench v1.4 all benchmarks done with 4xAA and 4xAF

    @520/560
    HardwareOC Steam Demo results
    HardwareOC Volcano Demo results
    TechReport Regulator Demo results

    @590/600
    HardwareOC Steam Demo results
    HardwareOC Volcano Demo results
    TechReport Regulator Demo results

    Would love to see some of the big FX53/55 boys with their X800XT @ 630+ core run Farcry v1.3 benchmarks for comparison

    I'll be getting my Powercolor XT-PE in a few days time, hope it overclock as high as yours eva.

    BTW, you're running the XT-PE at stock voltage right?

    Thanks.. yeah they seem more rare than BH-5/6 ram hehe

    Just some interesting driver comparisons

    I get higher 3d2k1 with omega 8.07 than 4.11 with Powercolor X800XT PE

    AMD64 3700+ @ stock speed

    X800XT PE

    omega 8.07 + DX8.1
    @600/600 = 29,613

    omega 8.07 + DX9.0C
    @ 589/600 = 29,243

    4.11 + DX9.0C
    @ 602/605 = 29,147

    cpu @ 2706-2728mhz

    4.11 + DX9.0C = 32,240 with good car low run
    Omega 8.07 + DX8.1 = 32,718 with poor car low run

    smartguadian is for DFI NF3 250Gb board or DFI's boards and is on the board's included driver cd - doesn't show GPU temps though for X800XT/PRO use ATI Tool
