This is from the BKDG pg. 55
There are two stages of boost supported. Compute units can be placed in the first stage of boosted P-states if
the processor power consumption remains within the TDP limit. The second stage of boosted P-states can
only be achieved if a subset of compute units are in CC6 and the processor power consumption remains
within the TDP limit. See D18F4x16C[CstateCnt, CstateBoost].

I assume the first turbo state is enabled as long as tdp limits are satisfied, independant of the unit's in C6. The second state is enabled if one unit is in c6. Finaly the third p-state has an lower tdp limit (it has an much lower Idd value) and also requires one compute unit in c6.
Think i can access the pci registers mentioned D18F4x16C via lspci --vvv on linux. All windows tools i know are limited to 0x00-0xFF so 0x16C is out of reach.
Not sure what i shoudl think about that guru thing. Been following the forum here the last years and read posts of you and the members you mentioned always with interest. Everyone has an slightly different focus on things.

Thank you for checking NB voltage, so ~1.1V is the default. 2GHz worked stable here with 1.2V.

I'm curious if they get that fixed. Found my kit needs an WCL of 11 but max bootable is 10. Also the kit needs an WR of 20 but the board allows 16 at max. Seen you could select 18.

I got some new mem in today. G.Skill 2400 RipjawZ:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231585

Haven't done much testing, but the 7850K seems to like it so far...

I left Prime running on that rig (while posting this msg), so when I'm done I'll check, and update the duration of stability.
I'm still having problems with the HTRef clocks on this ASRock board... I've updated bios to the 2.81 beta and DL'd the sata driver package from ASRock.
Even with lower CPU multi, the HTRef is still VERY sensitive and has a 102-105 limit before stability craps out!
HWMonitor still doesn't show the iGPU temps either, even after the updates to bios and drivers...

I'm almost regretting not going for the Asus A88X Pro. ASRock makes great boards, but I still think their bios team is a little weak...
MicroCenter has a really good return policy, so If I can't figure out how to work through my problems I may return this board and swap it out for the Asus this weekend.
Maybe it's just me... I'm so used to working with Asus.

Has anyone had any luck oc'ing the IMC on these Kaveri chips?
From a CMOS reset, this board sets the IMC voltage to 1.40v which seems pretty high to me!
I've even tried lowering the GPU clock to ~540 and still can't get much more than 1900 on the IMC...

For any ASRock fans out there, don't get me wrong! This is a FINE board with lots of nice features!!!
It just doesn't seem that OC friendly to me...

Update on new Mem and Prime:
    1Hr and 45 minutes and still stable in Blend @ 2400 10-12-12!

Nice kit and 50% cheaper than my crappy one.

So you are running actual catalyst drivers also?
Here i can run 2000MHz IMC with 1.2V, 2200MHz would not boot with up to 1.45V.

    Just a little Update....

I moved the 7850k to the HTPC/(ASRock A75 Pro4+). I'm having some problems with the HD Homerun Prime (network cable card).
Broadcast channels and JRiver MC (from the NAS) look really nice, but digital/premium channels are jerky and have problems with audio sync...
It's pretty annoying and makes it hard to narrow down where the problem is!

I've updated board drivers (Chipset/VGA and NIC), as well as trying the 7850k beta video drivers and nothing seems to help...

The 6600k/ASRock Pro6 in the bedroom doesn't exhibit the same problems, so I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with the HD prime or my network.

Oh well.... I'm trying to narrow it down, and it seems like the most logical conflicts would be coming from the mobo, NIC or 7850k drivers.
I'm leaning toward the onboard NIC or video drivers. Not sure when there will be a new release of 7850k CAT...

I have an extra PCI-e Intel NIC. If I can't figure it out buy the weekend I'll try that.
To add to the confusion, I updated the OS on that rig to Windows 8.1.

Guess that's what you get when trying to sty close to the cutting edge... ::

The nic on my mobo also behaves abit strange. Every now and then it runs in 10MBit mode instead of 1GB. Have not had any time left to further play with the setup, and used it as my primal pc for work last month. Ran it at stock but with undervoltet p-states had to increase my lowest findings abit but since then it ran flawless, fast and stable beside of the nic issue. Few weeks ago an new bios was released, did not yet test if it brings any benefits with my memory sticks.

could be that the nic is very sensitive to latency. my xbox did this when trying to play movies from my pc. the issue is/was the ethernet cord was 20+ feet long. switched to wifi, and movies play fine without disconnecting from xbox live. if your nic is/was physically damaged you'd be getting tons of corrupted files after you download them. as you suggested it HOPEFULLY is a driver issue. or, as i think about it, hopefully it can be fixed via bios update.

    Thanks STEvil!

That fixed it... It was set to "Max Power Savings". When I changed it to "Low Savings" the stuttering stopped.
I feel kinda dumb for not checking that, but Win8.1 has a learning curve that can be quite daunting.

I still can't figure out why, when I launch an app from the metro UI it exit's to the desktop requiring me to use the mouse or keyboard to get back to Metro...

Sorry for getting your thread so far OT Justapost.
