AMD made them too. AMD made DX2s all the way up to 120MHz.

Does it occur to some of you, that channel people are under NDA, and maybe they are honouring it? Besides, as EniGmA1987 mentioned, those 1st shipments went to the main customer, not your local computer store

If, let's say 7.5G LN2 BD is the fastest benching platform for some 3D tests; 8G LHe BD would give you a very nice edge over your competition. Then it all comes down to finding a good deal, which is similar to how it is on LN2. Some pay upto 7€/l, some pay as low as 0.3€/l.

The quantities you need for LHe are a bit higher, though. 500L would be enough for a few decent runs; but that's already 2500€ on cooling. Maybe when Giga or Asus start playing 'who has the biggest' they'll get on the LHe train
Won't the Helium shortage potentially limit this? Source: http://www.gasworld.com/news.php?a=5727

I just heard about this at work today. We asked for 500L and the supplier said they could delievery maybe 10L...

EDIT: At least here in the US. Not sure if they have the same issue in the EU.

that's the thing, they aren't in the channel. amd said they shipped some to cray. so there are some chips locked in a room in the middle of a building at cray.

Interlagos have been shiped to Cray, to some computing centers etc......... they are not a bunch of folk who leak benchmark like that.. they are doing test of validation for their system.

Don't forget , the XK6 can eat 500'000 CPU in his larger extend. ( ofc they are not test 500'000 processors and most system will end with a low less CPU )

It has been posted in other thread, and I really really really doubt it is official test results.

Which thread? Anyway, from the same site, more benchmarks.

    Like this thread ?
And I posted my reaction to those slides a bit further down that thread.
Edit: also what I would like to add, that I like how AMD uses Cinebench screen with xeon in it and instead of usual screen where you can see some different CPUs benched, you only see 2 CPUs in it, one is 2 core something and another is some 8 core xeon at 3ghz and instead of running that cinebench on BD system and adding the score to that little table, they just add a sidenote on a right hand side to say their results.
Only a kid would create a slide like this. I mean you are already disclosing the result, why not show it as normal people do, and that little chart on the cinebench itself.
So my suspicions are still there: either they are faked and anyone just done those slides for some kicks, or they are not fake and AMD desktop marketing pulled a retard on all of us

Pestilence, don't give me that crap
What was predicted was that AMDs new CPUs are running slower than some athlon 2s All we have seen was way worse faked test results, or some weird non functional chip testing
Even though I believe those are really faked, they are so far the best we have seen, didn't we?

Thats why I don't bother any so-call early leaking because we even not sure the launch date.

These slides imply they'll launch in Oct.12. But it's still wait and see. Too odd that we haven't heard Zambezi shipping now, it's only half a month away to mid-October.

No single thread results? If FX-8150 can only compete with 2600K in mt applications, it really looks like BD is somewhat of a disappointment. Guess we'll have to see if Piledriver fixes things next year. Or whenever AMD finally releases it...

October 12th has been referenced by quite a few reputable sites, and as it is quite close, you can pretty much guess if it is the date AMD has given under NDA. Of course it don't mean they can't delay it a bit more like usual.

We haven't heard it is shipping because we don't have desktop JF among us
I guess it would be safe to say that with those boxes of Interlagos to Cray, there were some smaller boxes going to some of the Desktop builders Or at least to some regional warehouses(if AMD has such things).

It would be kinda stupid and hypocritical to market 8 core CPU with some single threaded apps, don't you think? After all not very smart people would buy an 8 core CPU to do only some super pi runs day to day

Come on Muz. You think someone took the hours to fake them ALL? I think they're accurate.

For the past 6 months i expected the 8150 to beat the 2600K in Multithreaded apps and get killed in Gaming which is what i see here. I also have to point out the 980X runs at 3.3Ghz with a 3.6Ghz turbo and the 8150 runs at 3.6Ghz with a 4.2Ghz turbo.

Where was i dumping on them movie? I like amd and have owned amd but as i said before i'm a price/performance whore and i just don't see the 8150 providing better results then my current 2500K for the money. If i was into folding or encoding the 8150 would be a sweet setup but all i do is bench, game and watch :banana::banana::banana: and the 2500K owns that segment.

Now if the 8150 was 199 or lower then it would slide into view as a great alternative to my current rig but... You knew one was coming... If i was looking to build on October 12th and had to choose between a 2500K and a 8150 i'd have to weigh the options...

    Price - Pretty even
Upgradability - AM3+ is pretty much a dead socket where 1155 has IB coming

Even if you were a die hard Amd fan. Would you really go the Amd route when you know 22nm Goodness is coming in 5 months?

I don't know about the accuracy. I haven't got all the details, as none of us do. We will just have to wait and see, don't we. But as i said, what we seen before this, was nowhere near the perf we see in these slides(or so called slides ).
If those slides are true, I do believe that when we get our retail chips from shops, we will be able to tweak our systems further, you know, higher clocked ram, NB all that stuff And then there is clocking them to sky high remember chew's remarks about clock potential
One thing I know they will not be dull, and they will not be barcelona

Then I will apologise but lets say I noticed a tone from you in more than one AMD thread and that is what brought my comment
Now as to you from your sig:
    2500K @ 5Ghz 1.40v - Hyper 212+
    Asus MIVE
    EVGA GTX 470's in TRI
    AX1200

Why the hell do you want to upgrade?
