The new Aquasuit looks great!
Good Job!
I noticed that sidewinder has a "deal" on the Water Block
"Sidewinder loyalty reward: Receive a 50% on this product when purchased with an Aquaero 5 Pro or XT."
To me the existing Heat Sink, sucks! I should have purchased the waterblock initially and used that as a "Heat Sink".

Will Aquasuite 2012 be able to configure and control a PA2 without use of an AE5?

Originally I planned to run 2 x Koolance PMP-450S Strong Pumps and have each controlled by a Koolance CTR-SPD24 Pump & Fan Speed Controller.
Is it possible to have the Aquaero 5 (w/ poweradjust 2?) fully power two of these pumps without the need for any CTR-SPD24?
Thanks.

According to the specs the pumps only just fit within the range of the Poweradjust 2 addon channels but they will only run at 12v. Kind of defeats the purpose having 450S, although I think Martin did some testing of the 450S and it really only generated extra heat above 12v anyway.
The A5 on its own may be able to handle 2 pump across 2 channels but it will be close as the A5 limits to 1.65A per channel and total 5A 60W across all 4 channels. And thats with the water cooling block and dependant on another firmware update.
450S
Power: 8-24VDC, 3-55W, 0.13-2.1A
Startup Voltage: 9 to 13.2 VDC
I looked at that option myself but ended up going with 2xD5s per loop instead.
I just finished testing different combinations of 4 D5s and 24 x .37A fans on the A5 with 6 add-on PA2s. A standard D5 running at speed 5 draws 1.4-1.5A.
Until they do another firmware update it doesnt look like the A5 can handle it. The temps seem to hit 95c and trip a shutdown of the channel when running pumps at minimum start voltage of 7v and the fans at 4v.
I have a few spare channels on my setup so when they release a firmware update I will juggle a couple things around and hook up the 4 D5 Pumps.
It looks like in theory it should work but they just need to do a bit more tweaking of firmware around the temperature monitoring of the fan amp regulators as they dont appear to be getting as hot as reported which trips an early shutdown for over temp.
I highly recommend the Aquaero 5 and PA2s but if you really must have 24v pumps the Koolance 24v controller/adapters are your best bet.

D749: for those two pumps i suggest you to buy this, _dual_ speed 24V pump controller. You can still use aquaero5 for _monitoring_ eg. rpm tach signal from them (and in this case it doesn't matter how much/what power pump needs), but as phatboy69 wrote, no sense in getting 450S if you are not going to feed them 24V.
I sure hope that they eventually come out with a heat sink better then the stock heat sink on the AE5. I don't really want to WC my controller but I would like a better alternative for a heat sink then the rinky-dink stock one.

Quick question, can the Aquaero 5 handle a normal D5? I think that shoggy said that it should but he wasn't sure.

Thanks Phatboy69 & Churchy. I'll go with the Koolance bay controller.
It will handle the D5 at full speed but temps become a problem when turning the speed down to 7-8V. So the unit can handle the peak operating load of 1.4A just not the heat load when running at lower speed.
For now I have a direct 12v feed for the pumps. Im hoping they manage to tighten up the temp monitoring with another firmware patch. The last patch made it better but it still cant quite cope unless your running the pumps near full speed which defeats the purpose of using it for speed control of pumps. I think it has more heat load capacity than currently programmed though because the water cooled block isnt even warm to touch when the unit is reporting 95c on the regulators. I know the regs will be much hotter than the block but it just doesnt seem like they got the temp monitoring right yet.
Especially when you consider I can run nearly 2Amps worth of fans through a PA2 and dial them down to 4v with a bit of air flow cooling the regs to 60-70c.
Water block has gotta be better than that!

Are you using the supplied nylon screws? I found my waterblock was a bit loose using the nylon screws and opted for metal screws instead for a firmer fit.
If the block isn't making good contact that could be the problem.

I have already done the same and it didnt really make any difference to temps.
If you look in my other thread you can see a pic of the metal screws and insulators I used. It made me feel more comfortable about the stress of the tubing on the block/board as the plastic screws arent rigid enough and you cant tighten them enough for a secure fit.

Guys, i have to problems with ae5, maybe someone will know where is the problem...
1. All is connected ( 6 fans, 6 temp sensors, 1 pa2, 1 flow meter ), i run as2012 to set all. After that, when everything is working great - ae5 make reset![]()
2. First fan canal - dont work. I plug in three different fans and nothingI set in as2012 - 100% for this canal - and nothing.
Any ideas ?
1. no idea
2. Channel 1 can be set for flow meter. If it's on, channel 1 don't support the fan.
