Then you got ripped off. The pics of the ME4 on Newegg show a back plate and my Asrock Extreme6 had one. The problem with putting another back plate on top of the Intel back plate is it can be uneven unless you tighten it down all the way and then it can warp the board. This is why i liked the Swiftech and Koolance back plates since they do not sit on top of the Intel back plate. I am glad to see this as it will make it easier to mount the block and not interfere with the Intel back plate or any other components on the back. And yes, we do need it for the 1366.

We dont need one for 1366.

    1155 is another story.
My M4E didnt have a backplate even.

However tibbor can we get a picture of the socket and how the retension system looks?

This is a specific LGA-1155/1156 socket motherboard product, it is a ILM (socket latch) backplate replacement, therefore it can only be compatible with the LGA-1155/1156 socket.
You need to use spacers if you want to use it with 115X:

I had one, and still wonder how did you miss that aspect..

Sadly this doesn't work with the Easy Mount + Oval Top adapter as it's said on the web store.
Was going to buy one but then I read the fatal sentence :P

Apparently it does work with easy mount + oval top adapter. I just installed it only using provided screws with no problem.
