Exclamation Maximus IV + TR Venomous X = Issues

    Hey all,

For anyone putting together a Maximus IV and Venomous X; if you want your heatsink position vertically (air towards back of case, and facing the ram), you're going to need to grind off about 2-3mm of the mounting bracket (that goes across the square and holds down the heatsink) on the side with the VRM cooling.

For my board anyway it was too close and I couldn't screw down the bracket without pushing down on the heatsink. A couple seconds on the grinder (didn't take long at all) and it was good.

    Just a little warning

On a side note also, if you buy a nice Gentle Typhoon you're also going to need to either grind out the mounting holes or mount the fan with zip-ties or elastic bands ...

Picture as requested ... Had to take off about 1-2mm of material off the 'clip'.

My TRUE Black was the same with Gentle Typhoons, but it's easier than that You'll see the "tunnels" from one side to the other through which screws would normally go aren't cylindrical and they have an opening big enough to fit a pair of pliers. Grip the plastic and snap it off - it's literally a three second job
