I was able to fix my cold boot issues with the 1253 bios, I'm rock hard stable at 4.6ghz with 1.31 volts, i just think I'm going to leave it at 4.6 it's very fast and doesn't go over 51c even after gaming on h20

So, I flashed 1053. Did the CMOS clear cycle yet again, booted into Win7 and restarted. Still 48C in BIOS. I checked and the heatsink and fan air feel barely above room temperature, so I am guessing it is a BIOS reporting error.

I went back into Windows and started Prime95 again, this time I am running Core Temp 0.99.8 in addition to Asus Monitor. Right now, Asus reports 58C with fan on medium, Coretemp reports 55, 60, 59 and 57C with 100% load on all cores. The fan air is warm. At idle it reported 32, 32, 31, 30.

Anyway, so far no other issues. Prime95 ran all day yesterday and overnight with no problems. I benchmarked my C300 128GB with AS SSD. Sequential read was 330MB/s, write was 140MB/s. Overall score was 282 read, 171 write, 597 total. Much better than my X25-M G2 on the previous computer that resulted in scores of 178, 69 and 336 overall.
Thats really weird hm. Well go with what CoreTemp and AI Suite say as those seem to agree. Quite odd though as I was under the impression that AI Suite reported value of the same sensor that the BIOS uses, and so they should agree. Really odd...

    Reverting to the older BIOS

    Hi,

does anyone know how to revert with ASUS P8P67 DL to the older BIOS ??

EZ flash refuses to do so, is there any AFUDOS eng detition for this MB like there was for the older ASUS MB s ..?

    Hi guy

I just finiched my new p8p67 deluxe with 2500k cpu system and the pc wont boot... the cpu led is red. Is it normal? shoudn't be green?

also, I have corsair CM3X2G1600C9DHX memory. I know it isn't in the QVL. Maybe it is the problem...?

    Thanks

Hmm...you did plug both the 24 pin and 8 pin power cords into the motherboard correct? Try resetting the CMOS and I think that Mem OK thing on board is supposed to auto configure your ram or something, but I haven't really messed with it much. Also, try one stick of ram opposed to all of them.

I've found a few other reports on forums via Google with the same issue of BIOS reporting a higher temp after flashing from shipping BIOS and also reporting higher than desktop utilities.

One speculation is that the load is higher under BIOS than Windows, but in my case, perhaps just not high enough to tell based on the temp of the heatsink or fan. I do notice that when I ran 1 thread on Prime95, the temp reached the high 40s. Is it possible that in BIOS one core is 100% load and BIOS reports only the temp of that core, whereas desktop utils report individual cores or an average? I have no other explanation.

For what its worth, the Asus monitor motherboard temp seems to match the BIOS motherboard temp.

Almost done with my testing here...
    My 24/7 settings will be 4.6ghz 1.35V
Everyting in the bios was left as DEFAULT, AUTO, OR STOCK, except for:

    By all Cores
    46
    CPU Voltage 1.35V
    RAM Voltage 1.5V

I was able to test 4.8ghz 1.4V with Prime95 for 1H using the IN PLACE LARGE FFTs test but I'm not confortable with 1.4V. However, I experienced some voltage drops as low as 1.376V

orion23, how'd you go running small FFTs? That's a decent 24/7 clock you're running. Love the massive desktop icons lol.

Install SP1 for Win 7. Then run Linx. Your temps will shoot through the roof because Linx puts far more stress on CPU then Prime ever has once SP1 is installed.

Ive ran 2 Primes at the same time, But Linx increased my temps by 6c.

sp1 changes the registers to 256bit instead of 128bit and linx utilizes this and puts a massive load on the cpu.

I'd tried Linx before and it wouldn't do much to stress the CPU vs Prime95 which does a better job.

    Once I get Win 7 SP1 I'll give Link a go again....

Any links for the SP1 anyway?

If you want to integrate it into your OS disc, use RT Seven Lite.

So, I forgot to remove the Intel Lan "try me" sticker and after installing the mobo, well sticker still remains there (i've pulled on it but can't really take it off)
Lan works with no issue, but it's got me wondering about the bluetooth adapter....is there a cover on it or is it supposed to be ready out of the box (I ask because the range really sucks compared to my old USB bluetooth dongle..)

    Thanks!

Both of those boards have 12 phases, the only difference as I can see is that the PRO has 3 pci-express ports, and has the ability to make 8x 8x crossfire. But if u are like me, then just buy the P8P67, my last board cost me 240€ and I didn't use half of it's features, this cost me 150€ and it's all I need
