    Apacer ARES 2400MHz CL9 review

    Apacer ARES 2400MHz CL9

You can read whole review here

Two months ago, Apacer has introduced ARES memory of 2x2GB 2000MHz and 2400MHz package which should be aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers. Thus the name Ares in Greek mythology is the god of war, who is invincible in battle. The memory is standing out for its unique cooling that should cool the memory without any additional noise like a fan.

The memory is clocked at 2400MHz with timings 9-11-9-27 to 1.65V voltage. Two memory modules is an ideal combination for high performance. After the fiasco with Hypers chips, memory market didn’t have for a long time no real memory to offer enthusiasts. Recently Powerchip announced its chips, which is slowly trying to compete Hypers chips with high frequency.

    Some pictures of memory

Clocks above 2400MHz were quite difficult to achieve, especially on the air. In addition, we wanted to test the scaling of memory to 6-9-6, 7-9-7, 8-10-8 and 9-11-9 latencies with 1.65V, 1.70v and 1.75v. Stability was tested with 1.5XS Super Pi benchmark, and we used the 32M test. While testing we did not use any form of additional memory, such as cooling fans.

We can see that memory is going very well even with little tighter latencies. In addition, increasing the voltage really helps, so if you want to squeeze memory you know what you have to do. But we do not know how resistant is Powerchip with voltages and would not recommend going over 1.75v.

If you want to use a larger CPU heatsink, you will need to pay attention because of potential incompatibilities. We would recommend ARES Apacer memory to anyone who wants high performance and low cost. So we can say that the memory with 140€ price tag of a 2x2GB 2400MHz kit is great for this kind of memory

They are pretty good. Each stick can do 2500MHz @ 1.65v, but in triple it just needs more voltages

Can you try them on a P55 build? It would be nice to see what they can do in that plataform.

BTW, nice review and really nice mems!

I will test it on P55 and on SB, but just for HWBot DDR3 competition and maybe put it under LN2. But will surely update this thread

We have Apacer distributor here in Croatia, but I don't know where you can buy it in Canada :/

Why don't you try contacting Apacer directly? I know A-Data want to sell memory when you can't buy it in your country
