Koolance HD Radeon 6970/6950 block (VID-AR697) Now Available

Our VID-AR697 for AMD Radeon HD 6950 & 6970 cards is now available.

We're using nickel-plated copper, an acetal top, 0.5mm GPU microfins, and a direct water pass over the VRM.

Im pretty sure you could change those plugs anyways?? Nice looking block koolance, Just to confirm this block can be used both on the 6970s n 6950s correct?

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Bland metal grey against a polished shine, looks way off to me. Either black (to match acetal) or polished plugs would look appropriate. They are the same plugs I've seen from them for some time and they never change with the look of a block (hence the frivolity of a "warehouse full").

Indeed, the bitspower low profile shiny silvers are near perfect with the last two rounds of Koolance gpu blocks. 5 bucks or less for a pair and they look good on my Koolance 580 blocks.

Since Gabe mentioned it, ours was designed with a swappable Vreg plate as well (for other versions of the HD 6970/6950):

If plug style is the only complaint, I think we've done fine . Other plug types have been tossed around lately, though.

lol i like koolance's gun metal black.

A long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.. well it seems that way now... koolance used to use steel plugs!

But when they migrated galaxy's they changed to all brass.

Dunno about performance, but this is one sexy looking block. Congrats! Both of my 6970s are begging for these.

Holy hell I remember those steel things that would rust. It was the major reason why I stayed away from anything Koolance at that time. Now they have improved a million fold since then...Well since they listened to people using their products.

Tim those pics look good enough to eat...

I live in Bonney Lake about 15 minutes from Koolance. Do you offer pickup there if I order something through your website ?

Ah, gotcha! Yeah, that's my biggest complaint with Koolance ATM.

Tim, Please get the ding dongs in charge of product design/plating on the same page. I personally prefer the color of the plugs and the other dark gunmetal gray stuff but it clashes with the 45° fittings and spring clamps and most of the new stuff coming out.

Continued steps in the right direction

From parts I would never buy to parts I'm interested in to seeing a little bit of the old still lingering (steel plugs) to even taking care of the steel (I pulled out my magnet when I got my 580 blocks ) to being on top of my list, the Koolance comeback/emergence has impressed me the most over the last couple years.

I hope the fact that I have the CPU360, (2) VID-NX580 blocks, (2) Flow meters and even though I've got my chipsets well under control, am still interested in the FC mobo, tells you I'm not just blowing smoke

Koolance quick question, does the swappable vreg plate come with both 6950 and 6970 blocks or you gotta purchase separately ?

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

As I understand it, there is a single block that can be used for both 50 and 70, and since their PCBs are identical, you should just use the default VREG plate (which is included, of course).

Yeah, there's no need for a different Vreg plate for current 6970/6950 cards.
