These numbers right for an X6 @ 3.5GHz?

    Code:
    2010/11/02 07:07:49 AM Benchmark results:
    2010/11/02 07:07:49 AM Number of CPUs: 6
2010/11/02 07:07:49 AM 2891 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
2010/11/02 07:07:49 AM 8327 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU
    2010/11/02 07:07:50 AM Resuming computation
I ask as I had an X4 3.5GHz churning out 2000+ BIONC PPD and this X6 is struggling to touch 2000. It did briefly yesterday but today is back down to 1990.09

    TL;DR - Going from a 3.5GHz X4 to a 3.5GHz X6 has lost me 100 BOINC PPD instead of gaining me ~1000

I think you are giving up too soon. It can take awhile for the numbers to show up. I will test mine here in a few and see what the benchamrks are but that looks about right. I have 2 1055t @3.5 and they do 3k ppd boinc.

EDIT: Mine was 2893 and 9709

just for comparison, my 3.7ghz x6 does about 21k PPD (wcg points), so it does seem a tad low, but not much. these thubans just aren't that great of a cruncher in terms of efficiency output

I haven't tried an AMD chip since I retired the venerable 754s but here's an fresh run from my stock-clocked 860 to compare.

    boinc_bench_860.PNG

    aa.PNG

One would think that 6 real cores at a higher clock would out-do this...

Can't give you much on recent BOINC performance since I just fired it back up yesterday but it was doing low to mid-20s WCG pretty consistently when it was crunching full time.
    Currently messing with:
    Intel DP55SB Sharpsberg
    i7-860 (stock) under a Zalman CNPS-8700NT cooler
    4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ 1600
XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition (765, 1125 stock)
Mushkin Chronos DX 240GB and 1.5 TB WD Black
Powered by a Seasonic X-650 and stuffed into a Silverstone GD05 case

So my Dhrystone is very low :/

    I know they aren't great, but I'd expect a 50% increase from 2000 BOINC PPC :/

How long has it been crunching and is anything else going on on that PC?

It had been going for a year with the X4, and since Friday night with the X6. It also runs GPUGrid without CPU cores assigned (as it has for the past three or so months). It is my daily use PC, but my usage pattern hasn't changed. Constant music and internet (no Flash though) and the occasional movie.

Just ran benchmarks on other 1055 and it got 2897 and 8760. Make whatever ya want of them I think the numbers are basically worthless.

My daily machine is one of the 1055s and it will do 2500-2700 unless I play LOTRO alot then even lower. When I stopped running GPUGrid the points went up on every machine, 3 of them, that it had run on. Not much but I did see it.

Since Friday also tells me you are way too soon to expect to get a real idea. It takes a good week for numbers to really show unless it is all C4CW. The number will rise by weeks end. Maybe not to what you want but they will.

Can someone with an X6 around 3.5GHz post their Wprime 1.55 scores? I do think there's a problem here. My PPD is at an all time low by around 200 points with a 50% more powerful CPU

Double check you're not limiting the machine to 4 cores in your BOINC preferences.
edit: and dump HPF2, it's costing you.

BOINC (should be) is limited to 16 cores, but I'll look again later. Ta

EDIT: I know HPF2 is costing me a bit as I run Win7-64, but eleven bad units in seven days is not much more than 100PPD assuming that they finish, and plenty are going through without error. However, they normally error within the first 40 seconds so I'm losing a minute of runtime per day.

Just to be on the safe side, check both locally and on the My Grid pages to make sure it's using more than 6 cores, 100% of cores and 100% of CPU time. Just to be sure.

Suspend work if CPU usage is above 0 % of cpu
On multiprocessors, at most use: 16 processors
On multiprocessors, use: 100 % of processors

I can't check local settings as I'm currently at work, but all profiles are configured like that and my machine is set to run from the default profile.

That will just cost you more crunching time than you will likely recover IF it works. Better to disable unnecessary services at this stage and worry about a reinstall after this week.

Oh no trust me, it's not strain on the system. If I pause WCG my usage sits at around 2% tops.

And no software changes have happened since swapping to the newer CPU. I have, however, updated the BIOS as the old one didn't support the CPU.

RAM usage is at 70% with WCG running (only 2GB at the moment, I'm waiting for 4GB Hypers to arrive. I definitely saw an increase in RAM by swapping CPUs) but little to no paging.
