Trying to build a new rig for some PIE.

How much watts would I need in a PSU if I am getting three GTX260s to crunch?

According to Nvidia - High Quality 1000W to mid/upper quality 1200W
    http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html

Honestly I think a nice 850W one could handle it. I mean they say a 800-1000W for a 2 way 260 SLI, but I ran it for a month on a Corsair TX650...

Just consider that each Graphics card can pull 182W at 12V, or roughly 15A. PSU just needs to push 45A+ from the 12V rail and you're good.

If it were me, I'd go with a 900+ with a Tier 2 from this chart.

    Oh, and the pie:

Edit: Haha - the TX650 can push 52A out the 12V rail. It's got it covered.

    But I'd get this

Hey Otis, thanks for your reply, especially for the "Tier" link!

Will a PCP&C silencer 750W be able to handle the fire?

By the way, are you still in LA?

It's rated at +12V @ 60A so I'd say it should hold... Might see if anyone else comments but I'd say yes.

And no, I moved back to Texas to start school again... but I'll be back out there next summer for work.

Thanks guys, after seeing some reviews, I've got my hands on a Rocketfish (best buy brand) 900W on eBay for only $11.50! Will try putting it together with the system after I got it, but I still havn't ordered my cards yet.

At first, I had the same feeling, but I've done some research and after seeing this review, I've decided to bid on it.

Anyways for 11.50 I've got nothing to lose

a quality 650w should be enough for an i7 with 3 gtx260's, but the problem is finding one with 6 pci-e cable in this wattage. of course you can always get a bigger one (like that rocket fish), but all you really need 650w.

My kingdom for a piece of pie !!!!!

And yeah my output greatly dropped started playing again LoL and strangely gpugrid dont like it even if the game if very light graphically speaking so cant run both at the same it look like. But since most of my stuff on my car is paid, i could maybe be able to fork a bit more money to get that planned phenom II x6 and 3 gtx 460 to use with my leftover 1kw silverstone strider plus psu.

Kingcarcas has a baseball stadium pic, but crunches under the same name. I think KINCAID is a mystery-man, he also makes a strong showing on the WCG team.
