    Thumbs up [WR] Corsair Dominator GTX6 - Stunning 3011MHz CL8 in dual-channel

    Hi guys,

After playing with Dominator GTX1 (renamed GTX3 in the meantime) on subzero, today I decided to play with the new Dominator GTX6. The modules are single-sided (1GB each) to release the stress from the memory controller (IMC) and they look like this:

Hmmm... wait, where did the modules go?

2x1GB 2625MHz 9-11-10-30 1.65v are at the moment the fastest factory binned modules.
I still don't have the screws for KingpinCooling.com Dominance cooler so I decided to apply pressure MY WAY

So... let's finish the short presentation and get to the subject.

    Test system:

    • CPU: Core i7 870 ES @ LN2 (-70oC)
    • MB: Gigabyte P55-UD4 (F9 BIOS)
    • MEM: 2 x Corsair Dominator GTX6 1GB ( around -80-90 oC due to bad contact)
    • VGA: HIS Radeon X1600PRO
    • HDD: Samsung SP F3 500GB
    • PSU: Sapphire PURE 1250W

    Some considerations:

    • The CPU isn't special binned, just an ES sample from Intel... the only one I have
    • B2B = disabled (you can see also in the SuperPI screenshot)

    CL8 frequency WR - 3011MHz 8-11-8-31 1T 1.9v - Validation

SuperPI 1M was stable at about 2970-2980MHz (bootup frequency ) with the same latency, but the platform froze after that so no screenshot. Anyway I can show you an intermediate result:

    SuperPI 1M @ 2900MHz 8-11-8-31 1T 1.9v

    And now some more pictures:

Absolute stunning memories from Corsair, cherry-picked PSC chips

    Thanks for reading this,

Great job Matose, my God look at these heavily binned PSC chips!
I wonder what they can do when you losen up a bit the Cas Latency... Do you think you can go past 3100MHz?

    Nice work Matose!

Did you try higher tCL to see if your IMC can go any higher?

I will try George but I think I will hit the BCLK wall pretty soon

    @Hondacity: bootup-up BCLK = 245MHz, vTT = 1.57v (will try higher)

@Don-Dan: The platform froze pretty fast, but I think the BCLK will be an issue not the IMC

    holy jeebus nice clocks dude!

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Well, not very long: 4-5 hours on air and 1-2 hours on LN2

??? to get a foreign kit like that is totally new to you and spending only about a nights worth in the bios then feeling confident enough to get it all on ln2 and banging out those clocks in that short amount of time to me is more even more impressive. and on a ud4 nonetheless. wtf? I can only imagine what you can do with more time with that kit on a newer board. any other boards...cpus?

trans_am, I didn't spend much time with the GTX6 because I studied very well the GTX1 (GTX3 now) on air and on DICE. The UD4 actually is a very good board for memory overclocking, the secret is to boot at high clocks

It seems they fancy GB boards for memory overclocking. I think almost all
insane results in this section are achieved with GB boards.

    Nice man, keep rocking
