Problem installing OS on new hardware

I'm back. Got a new MOBO... and still get the same issue. I tried disconnecting physically every single connector until leaving only 1 SATA disk as IDE and 1 DVD. (so took out USBs, etc.).

Operating System install went up to rebooting and freezed again when updating the register... since then, freezes at the first graphic of windows 7 boot. Tried swapping disks. Same freeze at first graph. (So it does not always freeze at the same point, it passed first graphic screen at least once.

I' loosing my mind. What remains? the CPU? Heeeeelp !!!

I got a first hint: I tried to install other OSs, with XP I had teh same freeze. I tried an old version of Edubuntu that I had, V7-10. I got this error message before it freezed:

[47.378691] usb 3.-1: device descriptor read/all, error - 71

butI was unable to find on the Ubuntu web site a description of this error code. BUt if it refers to USB devices... I tried to install disconnecting all USB cables from the MOBO already and it didn't worked either...

Problem is identified and hopefully solved.

There is an incompatibility between the Motherboard Asus P6T Deluxe V2 and the PSU Corsair 950TX that produce the effects described here. There is a post from Ram Guy from the 11th of May -3 days ago- (see here http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=84067 post#56 or POST ID # = 450739). I quote:

The issue is a compatibility issue between the power circuit of some ASUS MB's and our 950TX PSU and the issue was addressed by ASUS in their production, however because of the number of MB's on the market we also addressed the issue with some changes to our PSU, so any new PSU should not have that problem, if you have the issue you can contact our customer service for a replacement on the PSU or contact ASUS for a replacement on your MB to solve the issue.

So, if anyone is having a similar trouble or having freezes with this two components, please be aware!

From my side, I get a very reactive response from Corsair and my PSU is already going back to them for replacement... in a few weeks...

To close this thread: I can confirm the compatibility issue, I got the new -corrected- PSU, I installed it now and was able to install the OS without any issue.
