Ok, now I flshing bios to the latest version (59). but the problem remains the same. The problem is because I do not say which version I am Flashing. There where it says Date, it is meant when the bios was issued or when I am Flashing. Given the CPU and the turbo is therefore possible that the cpu fault

Wonder if 59 bios is any better in clocking ram than S61B..Any one have findings on this?

    59 Updates:
    Updates CPU Microcode
Corrects issue with boot screen hang on some RAID 0 SSD setups
Extreme cooling mode improvements when using a 6-core CPU
Supports reduction to 4-core or 5-core for 6-core CPUs

About the double CPU power socket on the Classified, do I lose out anything if I just have only 1 of them connected?

I cannot comment on the differences in oc-ability as I did not test it myself. But 99% of the changes refer to the new Gulftown cpus now IMHO... IF you are on GT, then go for it. But for Bloomfields there are definitely better bioses, I think.

It does no harm at all.
If you were going for 5 or more GHz with several highly clocked gfx cards, then you could improve things a bit with two connectors connected.

Great. I'll continue using S61B then.

So anything below 5ghz will have no effect. Good to know.
I'm trying for 4.6 ghz HT off. Just making sure before I start cracking my head for the wrong reasons. Thanks man.

Depends on your psu as well...
But if it's a good 0.85-1.2kW one, it should suffice.

Can any one give me some VTT and IOH voltage ranges to work with for bclk in the 210 to 220/225 range. I'd like to bench the chip at 215x19 and then 215x21 and providing that I'm successful... perhaps even push on from there.

Note: I'm running with vdroop enabled on air with a Noctua and two medium speed fans in push/pull. These are just short stability runs I'm just starting to test the chip.

Most likely needs more VTT, since your RAM should be able to do those speeds with ease.

I can bench all the way up to 220Blck without raising PCI-E, 1 or 2 more mhz than that and it hard locks. So when you get to speeds around the 215ish range, you might need to up the PCIE to 105 or so.

Only changes I have to make to bench on water is VTT\Vcore\VDimm. QPI PLL\CPU PLL\IOH\ICH I all keep at stock levels.

What QPI multi do you use to bench up to ~220 bclk? If I leave mine set to enabled/auto I can get up to ~209 with the x18 qpi but it seems to "fail boot" ~210 and up. If i set QPI function to disable it drops QPI multi down to x12(?) and I've been able to boot 215+.

I leave it on Auto. Ive never had to lower it to get any OC stable.

Try raising the QPI PLL to 1.25v

I'm getting an E760 soon with a 930, is the general consensus to use the S61J BIOS for this chip over the new 59 BIOS?

I would say so, but some users seem to be successful with the 59 as well. You have to try. Keep an eye on performance as well comparing both bioses. Some say video performance is gonna suffer with 4x-5x...

I'm think there may be something slightly "borked" with this particular motherboard sample.

Even with ample voltages as soon as I go to 210+ bclk with x18 qpi I get no (failed) post. If I disable qpi control the board drops to x12 qpi and I can boot. I've also tried swapping out my Muskin for GSkill and the same story. If I drop back to 209 then I can boot with x18 qpi...

The only other thing I can think of off hand is is to try flashing to the latest BIOS?

EDIT: Flashed to the latest 59 BIOS... and still no affect on the problem.

The board bugs out? Usually it's the cpu!

XCool Jumper works as well as the bios options for me.

Yep, is the mobo, why?, because same CPU, memory, PSU on DFI UT LP X58 doesn't have that problem.
