Idea for water cooling ram ghetto
had a simple idea for watercooling ram.
Corsair Domitor ram comes with a heatsink screwed onto the top
if i were to remove the heatsink, and attach a flat copper plate with copper tubes soldered onto it.
that should work i think.
doesn't anyone know if the top of the ram is flat once the heatsink is removed?

ram chips are small black squares. You could probably rip the heatspreaders off and run rectangular/squished copper tubing through loops around them.
well my machine is all watercooled, CPU, northbridge, video card raid card, so i have very little air flow.
when i touched my ram if failed teh 2 second rule. if u can hold it for 2 seconds its not to hot.
so I would guess its at 50deg c easy. so no telling me ram doesn't get hot.

never ever try and rip the heatspreaders off corsair ram they glue them on with superglue or something, you will rip the ram chips off, the only way to do it is to try and heat up the heatspreaders and ease them off.

what i thought of doing was getting a chunk of copper and attaching a koolance gpu-200 or three with peltiers imbetween the chunk of copper and the WB and strapping that to the ram
there have been a lot of testing and it showed cooling ram, doesn't improve performace.
I just want to water cool mine to prolong life and decrease number of fans, hence less noise.

right now i have Gskill ram, so i would have to sell them, once i get them back from RMA, 6 sticks, 2 bad, 1 from each set.
then get my motherboard. and new ram.
still undecided about motherboard. but that is another issue/thread.

I think us modders realize, if we can't afford to replace it, don't mess with it.
