ASUS Crosshair IV Formula (Picture preview)

    Hi!

Here is the latest ASUS motherboard for AMD CPU's. It is called Crosshair IV Formula. Extreme version is rumoured to come out later. These will be the best choices for upcoming AMD X6 Thuban CPU's

Can not talk much about features and performance until the 890FX NDA ends.

***Heatsinks are not final versions, as you can see from the pictures***

    Here is the board:

    There you go!

    More stuff coming later.

Picking one of these beasts up when they come up along with a nice x6. Any word on differences between the formula/extreme boards other than maybe pci-e configuration (I only need two slots, so either will suffice).

Actually that would be cool. Save 10€ and have this kind of cooling solution. I would not have anything against it.

I can not tell that info yet, but I think some stuff is already floating around internet, so you should find answer pretty soon.

I agree! This board looks great and it is nice to have this type of boards for AMD as well.

Sorry, I can not give this info to you. You should find this from web as well.

There should not be any radical differences. Extreme is more for extreme users, so 4x VGA will fit better.

The memory slots are more like orange in real life than red. The PCI-E slots are not ferrari red or something like that. Colours are mostly like in the pictures.

on the photos in the internet we can clearly see that the forth slot is x4, that's not good but maybe for the triple fire it will be good choice

If you look behind the button you can see TU
I you look at this picture of the board from hardware canucks

Looks like it has the same button setup with the TU being the turbo.
Here are the rest of the pictures from hardware canucks.

Also these heat sinks on the chipsets and Mosfets are expose to look like crystals.

Aw... what sucks is that my AMD rig is a blue/white color scheme. I know that looks aren't everything, but I keep it somewhere on my priorities.

ROG connect and it looks like a dedicated onboard sound chip?
Signatures make my posts look huge... but I'm not humble enough to completely remove my signature, so I kept this note explaining it.

I am guessing that it is basically this chip from the crosshair III just built onto the mother board.

These are 2 features that the Maximus III Formula has that i hope the Crosshair IV Formula gets.

The only thing i can think of for that is i think hardware canucks got a more recent version of the board. If you check out some of the pictures on the net you will see some have the X-Fi chip and some don't.
