The 14.8k was ran at NV40 launch. I haven't found any details on it so it could have been ran at 800x600 resolution.the world record is 14860, I believe, with 4 processors
1 or 4 CPUs doesn't make a difference. They used 3.4GHz P4 (according to the screenshot).
good score at this resolution?Originally posted by macci

I want a Penryn 3.33G 12MB & quad sli Nvidia G92
IMHO, a score at that resolution is pointless. Any run at low resolution is either meant to test a CPU or to confuse or mislead.Originally posted by cpulloverclock

Asus G60VX : Intel T9600@3.299GHZ : Nvidia GTX260M @ STOCK/ .9v
NV40 at default clocks on A64 3400 gives 14 100 Marks at 800x600 according to FiringSquad NV40 review - so 14.8k at 800x600 would be a normal score for NV40+3.4GHz P4EE at around default clock.
14.1k @ 800x600 = 11.8k @ 1024x768 (default)
11.8k @ default![]()
Almost makes your efforts seem worthless Macci... although we know better
Looks like I'm gonna get myself a new GPU in November (we got some major computer expo here then... HCC Dagen for the Dutch among us)

Friend: Do you have a spare PSU lying around?
Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?
Friend: Antec 480w

Macci - Here at 800x600 =)

Nice
The 14.8k is a bit too low for an OCed NV40 @800x600 and a bit too high for 'air-overclocked' NV40 @ 1024x768.
So whats the real deal w/ the 14.8k score they showed at the launch? Anyone have more info on that one?
Looking at the NV40 results I've seen so far it would require something like 570/1250 card and overclocked 3.4G P4EE to get 14.8k @1024x768.
Now 570 core on NV40 is quite a high OC (highest aircooled seen so far is 460MHz). Clearly not impossible but it will require Subzero cooling. Did they use such system at the NV40 launch?
Or is the 14.8k just ran on 'air-OCed system' with Optimized 'non-FM approved' drivers?![]()
Hello Macci
On NV40 Launch, i belive they benched their machine with a Standard aircooler.. But i am not sure at all..
Or is the 14.8k just ran on 'air-OCed system' with Optimized 'non-FM approved' drivers? -
I think that´s the deal!..
But if only the drivers were FM approced, then you would be at a level of tears!![]()

what about running it 800x600 with aa af (maybe not max aa/af) and whatever else?
