I lapped my CPU so now it's all bronze looking copper with a mirror finish

It wasnt flat and most of the contect was on the outside of the heatspreader.

At 4 Ghz 1.520v my temps at max are about 50-52c and idle is down to 31-32c

But I'm running 4.11 @ 1.55 and 2.8 NB in my sig, it does all my games, whatever else I do...cant run Prime95 for one minute though XD

BTW thats one core but NB was @ 2.86-ish

I already beat my old mobo on validating by 50 Mhz and about 80 Mhz stability.

Yeah, it's quite a bit better. I'd assume the BIOS'es still need work though I'm really suprized that I've not found one bug in this F4 BIOS yet.

Gigabyte fixed voltage problems and I can select to run ram all the way down to 1.25v IIRC. Increments are great also, they are in .02v so 1.60 to 1.62 etc. Much better than .1v increments. I havent played with any voltages other than CPU_NB, CPU vcore and DDR3 yet. Gonna try CAS 6 or at least tighten timings even more and run 1M again. Theres more in this, I have a pic from a faster run. :P

Yeah, while temps are a bit better I'm still limited by my heatsink.

4 Ghz @ 1.52v is stable, 4040 Mhz with 1.55v is for the most part stable and I'm outta headroom. Were temps down another 3-4c I might be saying 4.1 Ghz stable but 4.11 (sig) @ 1.55v is fine for gaming and about every task I need as long as temps dont push over 50c. @ 4 Ghz / 2.8 NB idle is about 33c

Try it on ln2 gurantee you will find a preety good bug for sure

~1.52 seems to be the "sweetspot" for my chips too, and I have pretty darn good water!
I get the feeling that unless you go very cold electromigration may be coming into play on these chips at higher voltages.

If it makes you feel any better, theres NO WAY I can get my IMC Prime Stable above 2650 (on either chip), reguardless of how much voltage I throw at it.

@ Daveburt714: LOL on water and with enough voltage I'm sure I could do 3000 24/7. I can cold boot 2950 on air 2820 is stable @ 1.375v

The DDR2 UD4P was giving me trouble on NB clocking on all of the BIOS'es, I could bench high-ish around 3000 @ 1.45v but for 24/7 I couldnt go past 2600.

Nope, the RAM was running passive @ 1.95v...(could actually be borderline safe for 24/7).

I guess if I wanted I could push 2.1v into them but I wont torture them that bad.

Yeah I can do 1300 Cas 6 but that really doesnt help too much when the ram does 1800 7-6-6. I still couldnt break 6-6-6 <----evil lol or 6-7-6 at 1600 on the lower divider.
