Edit: Since I noticed from some other threads that people are asking how and where I got the plated MIPS blocks, if anyone is interested in some MIPS blocks (plated or standard) let me know (send me a PM) and I may/should be able to hook you up. I may be able to do plated HeatKiller blocks as well

Edit 2: The Bitspower 45s did not pan out since I did this over the holidays and shipment from Sidewinder got delayed for 3+ weeks at customs (Country of Origin: Taiwan, tsk, tsk, tsk ...what was Gary thinking) so I decided to go without the 45s. Now I have a spare set of 12 or 14 Black Sparkle 45s lying around. Oh well, another build another time.

Just wanted to make a small build log to showcase what I am doing now. First, the list of key system components

I'm waiting for our dear Canadian snail mail to deliver my BP fittings and barbs still. Damn you Canada Post, damn you!!!

I'll mount the rad and such in the meantime...not that it will take me long. One annoying thing is that this case is steel and has some seriously thick sheet metal that needs to be cut. Eh, as long as it ends up being half decent I'll be happy

I've also decided that interior painting is not happening at this time since I am out of budget to do any custom acrylic work on the case top so everything will be closed and invisible at the end. I'm going to eventually add a dual rad as well to cool the graphics cards...well that's the plan anyway so at that time I may do the acrylic work and interior painting.

Awesome looking setup I was going to go all MIPS myself but decided to stop using the Swiftech N/B MAX and try the MIPS version with a eK LT Nickel. Subscribed for sure to this build. Still trying to find a small case that I can use enough rads to cool everything... Keep up the great work dejanh I am right behind you....

those mobo blocks are nickel plated, i don't see them on mips website. Is this the service you asked from them ?
Can i ask how mush it cost you ?

Alright...as promised here are the pics...I do not have the SLR any more (returned it over the holidays). Unfortunately the pics are kind of dark but they will show what I intend to show Since there will be quite a few pics in the next few posts I kept the size small at only 640x480 but I have higher res pics as well in case you want to see them

I hope this inspires others to do more compact liquid cooled builds. If anyone is interested in some MIPS blocks let me know (send me a PM) and I may be able to hook you up, including with plated blocks (even HeatKillers, yes )

I had to cut a hole in the bottom of the hard disk panel to fit the res through. The panel simply slides out and up to remove the hard disks, optical drives, and get access to the res for any refilling, top-up, or any other maintenance work.

The finished case. Looks very clean, despite the triple rad being on the outside. Matching color and good hiding if wires (all fan wires are routed through the radiator fins and into the case) ensure a clean exterior look. After all, this thing sits right underneath the TV in the living room all day long. Got to make the wife happy











Next post...end results...do not have a screenshot handy so I will post it later. All I can say though is 4.2GHz for 24/7 completely LinX and Prime stable (15+ hours) with sub 70C (somewhere in the range of 65C to 68C if I recall correctly) temperatures at 27C ambient temperature

pardon my ignorance, still catching slang for this, what are "MIPS blocks"? are they the thing next to the CPU that are not the NB and SB?
secondly, what blocks are you using for the NB and SB?
btw, those are AMAZING pictures, idc if you had to return the SLR, those are gorgeous.

MIPS is a water-block manufacturer from Germany as Malik stated. The CPU block is from Watercool, the rest are all MIPS (meaning NB, SB, MOSFET are all MIPS water-blocks). If you are interested in any blocks by them (MIPS) send me a private message.

The blocks were special order, yes. It was nominal extra cost, nothing significant to even mention. I think it cost me max ~20 euro for plating and internal shipping for the HeatKiller, NB, SB, and MOSFET blocks.
