Step it up - 1000 Thread Count Down!

Seeing as the last count down thread was finished here I though it was fitting to start a new one for all the new Christmas and new years gear, but step it up a notch!

The last thread took 6 months to add 500 theads.

So the goal I'm setting is for 1000 threads added in 9 months.

That's a 33% boost over the current rate, but WE ARE XS! Let's pump it up and start adding the threads!

P.S. - for those of you that don't know how this goes, take the number it's at, and subtract the

threads you just added (a.k.a. Not what you're already running).

    I'll start as an example:

    __________________________________________________ ______

    1000

    -2 Atom Z520

    998
    __________________________________________________ ______

    Who's next?!?

yeah Otis , change cores into 'threads'

I would also clearly state that this countsown is meant for newly added machines , not wjat you're running already.

Yeah, you should add that in bold print Otis. Otherwise people are just gonna keep substracting what they already run

I'm guessing that if you upgrade a dual to a quad, or quad to hex, etc., you can subtract the difference between old and new?

I wasn't crunching whenever the last tally was done, so I have subtracted all of my cores. Was this not correct?

I'll be adding an E6300 in a few weeks. I've not been running recently due to not having my desktop for 1st Trimester and a few OS reinstalls since the start of 2nd Trimester. I don't really want to spend $200 though on a low-end gfx card, chassis w/ psu, and new board though...

Fold5 (hosting my 9600GSO for F@H) is just CPU idle. Well, it is only an old s939 A64 3700+ 2.2GHz so not worth much. But then, it struck me that hey, the CPU is running anyway to keep the 9600GSO going... so heck, I just got WCG running on it!

My old 3700+ did 2.86GHz on stock volts. This one would barely hit 2.5 with a bump, but that was also on the old A8N-E board that seemed to have a wall at around 230MHz HTT regardless of CPU. It is in a DFI board now, maybe it'll do better. Doesn't have a great heatsink though, so we'll see.

I need to OC the Q6600 in fold4 first. It is still....stock

It is a G0. But the VID is 1.35 so I'm not expecting too much out of it.
