    new CPU-Z wont validate?

hey guys sorry if this is the wrong section!

having a really strange problem since updating to the newest cpuz.

It seems to be detecting my 955 wrong and invalidating my Overclocks

    Here is before i updated cpu-z (1.52.2)

Here is the messed up one (1.53). Notice the package name is now coming up as socket 939? it wont validate even at stock.

    CPU: Phenom II X4 955 @ 4800Mhz
    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P < Died
    GFX: Asus ATI HD6970
Ram: OCZ 2x8gb corsair vengeance 1600
    PSU: Corsair HX650w
HDD Crucial M4 SSD 128gb, 1tb spinpoin and WD green 1TB

Great CPU you have there BTW...

    1.53: (100% stable, 24/7 settings)
    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=905672

And my sig is the "suicide" valid....(1.52.2)

Package name however is changed for a reason, pinout number is wrong...(should be 938 for AM3) but it's correcting AM3 vs. AM2+.

I've seen a number of rejected validations around with 1.53.

What cooling did you use for that 4.8GHz?

I haven't had any issues. I use the stand alone for 32bit and 64bit. I haven't tried the install version. Not sure if it is issue with both methods or not.

Mach 2 GT but it cant handle the load though, soon as any load hits the temps start to rocket.

I tried both stand alone and the install versions here. My laptop won't even validate successfully and I promise you it is as stock as it gets.

Glad to it isn't me!! Did my first attempt at validation today in a while and had to down load 1.53 before it would let do any thing. Wasn't paying attention so this is the only copy as I was "suiciding".

Honestly, some of you guys crack me up...

"Oh, something is wrong with CPU-Z 1.53... It won't validate my 4.8Ghz run!!"

Not trying to be a jerk here, but did you ever think it's because your 4.8 run isn't really VALID?

In all reality, CPU-Z has been a little loose in the last couple years.
It's validated alot of things that aren't stable at all.

I had no problem getting a good validation with 1.53 (see Sig).
Then again, my rig actually is stable...

Personally, I'm thinking they finally fixed it.

CPU-Z is not suppose to validate stability, it is for validating a clock was actually achieved...period. drop the 'more stable than art thou' speech. there is clearly an issue with the latest CPU-Z and some CPU's/MB's or some other unknown variable apparently.

i only run Intel and 1.53 has been validating everything i have tried the last couple days, i would suggest contacting Franck with details as it may be something that came up with specific processors/boards. is there any rhyme to the pattern on invalid's showing up in this thread?
i don't quote in my signature, but best WR ever...

I'm not trying to claim that "I'm Holier than thou", and I don't doubt that there are some problems with the newest version of CPU-Z.
It wouldn't really be anything new, now would it?

That being said, here is a WIKI definition of Valid:

I seriously doubt 4.8Ghz will meet that criteria on anything less than extreme cold, and certainly not on Ambient Air or Water....

1.53 was giving me problems when i was trying last week, it was not validating, showing wrong speeds, i would submit one score & it would output another, etc... i will also be waiting for an update i guess.

daveburt maybe you missed it but it wasnt validating one persons laptop @ 100% stock so i dont think its fair blame it on the people trying to validate high clocks

Daveburt714, the current version doesnt validate my CPU at stock, or any of my overclocks.

i Emailed CPU-Z earlier today reguarding this, i just had an email back from Franck Delattre, saying there is infact a Fault with 1.53 and K10 processor's. He has been looking into it today and i just tested out a fix and its validated my cpu and i think hes releasing it.

    So sit tight guys!
