    Got MSi bios working flawlessly.
stock volts I see 900/1124mhz furmark/unigine stable. Got 47.4FPS in Heaven benchmark 1280x1024 windowed, all high 4AF
Stock clocks of 725/1000 same settings yields me: 40.8fps

Did already somebody change the stock cooling for somthing beter? I know that the Thermalright T-Rad2 and Twin Turbo pro would fit. But i beleave both coolers had a hard time cooling the VDDC.

For me MSI 5850/5870 unlocked is the best bios and Afterburner works perfectly. Here is my Sapphire 5850 with waterblock on the GPU only, flashed with MSI 5870 unlocked bios: @1112/1285 - 1.35v:

    1.35v, YIKES!

I got my two 5850's running at 1000/1250 at 1.274v but I'm not going to push any higher than that.

This 1.35v is only for benching, for 24/7 1000/1200 it needs 1.237v. The main problem for higher numbers and stability is too hot VRM. Look what's happen during Furmark test with VRMs :

That doesn't seem accurate. I would expect VDDC numbers in the 80-100 range with a stock cooler, but that is insane. My VDDC's only reach low 50's with EK waterblocks under full load.

No way that's possible. I'm not buying it. I guess everyone's definition of "stable" is different. About 10 Crysis Warhead loops on Frost at 1920x1200 at 4x AA should show how stable it is.

Is there a way to set idle clocks?

When I overclock my 5850, the idle clock drops from 400 to 157 which causes my second monitor to flicker.
    Is there any other solutions?

U can create a custom 2d clock using msi afterburner. I tested it when i downloaded 1.4 and it works on my 5870

I see these temps only during Furmark test and GPU-1.35v. In all other 3D test and games temps are between 70-80*C under load but for sure I put additional RAM sinks on the top of PCB above the VRM.

Yes, it ran furmark and heaven benchmark at 900 and stock volts. load temp was 60C with 25% fan speed.

    EDIT:

I'm on windows 7 with 9.11 and for some reason when I enable ovedrive or use MSi afterburner to overclock. No matter it 1 Mhz or OC to 1ghz, I get screen flicker on my main screen and sometimes my 2nd screen (hydravisioned)

Anyone have this problem while in 2d? When playing a game or something I see no flicker except on 2nd screen.

Nice cooler, is that also made for the 5870, or just the little brother?

My Vantage Benchmark. Not bad for a Core 2 Duo think I've nearly squeezed out all the performance out of this system. E6700 @ 3.65Ghz & 5970 970/5120.

Wonder how it will jump up once I get a Quad Q9650 @ 4.2Ghz+

Anyone know roughly what clocks a 5850 needs to perform at the same performance as an 5870?
I'd guess 950/1200, anyone got a good idea?
