And I've now lost one of the flaps on one of the pins by trying too maby times and it snapping off.

So need another pci-ex extension cable as this one is buggered.

Good job I'm using extension cables I suppose and not knackering my new psu.

A tiny screwdriver is too thick and damages the pins / flaps. If you are not going for a pin-remover, you will always have the problem of flexibility-loss on the flaps, becasue the one-side-after-the-other-flap-bend-method permanently bends the flaps - otherwise an extraction wouldn't be possible with this technique.

    Don't give up

with a 16/18 AWG crimper and the correct molex pin connector you can repair it and also make custom length connectors.

Nem, don't give up! Are you sure your putting the cables in the same orientation as they came out. They only fit in the same way. If you try to put them the wrong way, the cable will not go in.

Pretty sure I am yes. The problem is simply the flaps not reconnecting.

Tried 'making' a tool this morning, and again failed, so looks like I've got to order one, and another pci-ex extension cable and then try again.

I wouldn't be so annoyed if I'd not got so many parts sat here for the build which I've not been able to even look at yet. I decided the sleeving was going to be difficlut and if I did everything else first then the sleeving would get rushed and look crap, hence needing to do it first.

I'll report back when I've got supplies

Okay, I'm in the progress of sleeving (mpc-x ofcourse) but have a little problem.
It started with one of the 24 cables in the main ATX would not stick anymore.
When I removed it (to get the large heatshrink on for the first part, sleeving ~60% individually and putting a large sleeve on the rest) it just would'nt stick.
Then after many tryes the things that are supposed to hold it on place just fell of, wich makes it useless becaus now it definetly won't stay put.

    So, what do I do?
    Try to find a replacement?

Edit: Okay, this is starting to happen to every other cable now.
It seems they can only be taken in and out for a couple of times then they break.
And this meens I cant take them out again, so I can't even get the big heatshrink for the transition of the individuals and big sleeve.
Is it just me that have this problem or anyone else here??
Suggestions what the I should do??

WeeMaan, it seems your best option is going to be to replace the pins on the end, at least on the ones where the little flap has broken off. You will need some of the female ATX pins (which work for the 24-pin, 8-pin, and PCI-E cables), and a crimping tool.

The flaps are delicate. I use an exacto knife blade to pry them open before re-inserting, but agree they can are a bit delicate.

    Shazza, thanks for your answer.
Yeah, i guessed it would be the only way to make it work again.
What kind of crimping tool will I need?
Would any of these work? As cheap as possible is a big plus, the TJ07 project destroyed my budget.
And is it these connectors that I need?

Anyone know where to get gigantic blue heatshrink? (1.25") 3:1 ratio double sided? I want it to match the primochill uv blue colour. http://img.ncix.com/images/21328_l.jpg
Sleeving too please that's 1.25" (expandable)

To get colors matching to your primochill you need real life tests. Order blue heatshrinks from every source on this planet and you might find one. At 99% of the shops you get fooled with photography when it comes to color accuracy.

Can heatshrink be stretched? Has anyone sleeved the whole 24 pin cable with one gigantic sleeve?
