Ran about 3hrs of prime 95, so far very stable @ 4GHZ (1.37V) - CPU VTT - 1.30V.. going to let prime run over night and see how it goes.. I hope I can get 4.4ghz out of this ;p

Tomorrow i'm going to pick up my Core i5 750, MSI P55 GD65, 4GB XMS3 DHX memory and a Corsair Hydro H50 cooler. I hope this combo will clock nicely and I can show you some results. The main target is a nice OC for daily use, not WR beating![]()
Im having trouble getting it to run stable @ 4.1GHZ, I have the VTT set to : 1.303V, and I've tried 1.4V on the cpu.. should I bump cpu/vtt voltage??

Getting to 4GHz was easy for me...from that point on, steady, generous doses of vCore were necessary for each increase in speedYou need to keep an eye on your temps too

Crap! I can't seem to get my i5 750 stable @ even 4Ghz =/.. I upped voltage to 1.39 hopefully it makes a difference.. what happens is after about 5hrs (prime 95) one core fails on me =/.. that one core is extremely stubborn, if it wasn't for it i would've been able to run my i5 @ 4.2Ghz..

Ummm....5 hours of Prime95 is a bit overkill. I used to play this "stability" game, and it's not always cut & dry. Run Prime95 for an hour or two sure, but then do some real world testing.
I had a rig 24 hours prime95 stable before and it would crash within 5 minutes of attempting to encode a movie. Conversly, I've had another rig that would fail Prime 95 withing 15 to 20 minutes, but was rock solid stable 24/7 for my daily office & gaming needs.
On my daily rig, I only run a "stability" test for about 30-60 minutes these days, and even if it fails in that time, that doesn't bother me. Afterward, I start a 1080p movie encode job, and fire up an intensive game like FC2 or Crysis and play for a bit. If it's stable...I'm happy![]()

im with you on stability miahallen.
i think 1 hr of prime95 blend and 5-10
runs of LinX.and the big one,as long as i have no crashes
or strange behavior while doing my normal daily usage
and it boots up everytime,i call it stable.

cheers dudes!!

I've finally managed to get it prime stable for 12hrs :P, I actually prefer having it prime stable for 8hrs minimum.. but thats just me

I also think running long prime stability tests are unecessary and time consuming. I like to do a one hour run and then a two hour run. I also sometimes use OCCT and LinX/Intel burntest test. For long term testing I like to let the pc crunch... random reboots often turn up after 24/36/48 hrs which then requires a little more tweaking. I usually find that I don't have any stability problems after that.

Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.
Heh, gotta get ready for heading out for Thanksgiving, but i decided to try some really quick OCing.
Haven't spent more than literally 30 minutes on this thing, so i imagine i can get voltages better when i have time.

Currently running my i5 750 prime95 stable at 21x200. Only problem is that it takes 1.5V . Load temps are 66C with my TRUE which aren't bad at all, but I'm still a bit nervous. Any tips on getting this voltage down while still maintaining stability? Is 1.5V even safe?

Well i left P95 Blend running all day while i was at the relatives for Thanksgiving.
RAM timings/performance is a disaster, i know.
I just left everything auto, as i'll worry about RAM later.
Seems 4 GHz is P95 stable anyway.

Bro -n7-.,can u give us ur bios template for the 4Ghz speed..tq

Really wish this was stable, but it's not...have to figure out how to tweak things now...

ezaleina, i haven't found my mobo's template posted anywhere to copy to, & i'm too tired to write anything out tonight.
But for the 4 GHz screenshot, i didn't really do much at all in the BIOS as i still have no idea what i am doing (used to s775).
You can see my voltage settings in EZTune.
All i did was set vcore to 1.325 & vTT to 1.17 & my vDIMM to 1.64
Turned off C1E/EIST/Turbo.
Everything else was auto or lowest values.
I will post my settings for higher speeds if i can get them figured out, but to do 20x200, i really did basically eff all other than raise vcore.
This mobo (P55-UD3R) seems pretty good for the price for OCing so far.
It's quite annoying how long POST is though.
Takes a while to get POST, & then i've got three SATA controller screens to sit thru...adds a crapload of time to get into the OS.
That & it's buggy as crap with my KVM.
Had these exact complaints with my P45-UD3P actually...one thing Asus does a lot better IMO.

Meh, I got a bad batch, my processor does 4Ghz 12hrs prime stable but it demands 1.39V =/.. oh well at least I managed to get 4Ghz..

Sorry, I just saw this... I have the same setup.
You should be able to do 4GHz pretty easily with the maximus III gene and i5. For example, my i5 CPU ran 4GHz stable at 1.36vcore and I only changed the settings below for that speed... Do this at your own risk
