    guys its a vrm thats been circled >_< it gets extremley hot =) EK + koolance new FC blocks and swiftechs too i think cover this chip, imo I would get something on it buddy, everything else important that gets hot is covered so its fine

    It's not a RAM power fet, that chip powers some I/O part of the GPU core, "VDDCI" according to W1zzard who inquired about it from AMD. I'd say it's likely that translates to the GDDR controller.

    Well I have decided to order the EK water blocks instead.Frozen Pc has them in stock with just 8 left. I really like the looks of them and from what I read it will cover those area's the heatkiller didn't. I will post pictures and temps as soon as I have them mounted and installed.

    That's a good idea, just put your old HKs up for sell so you can attempt to gain back some money.

    I was just thinking of buying a 5870 since they are affordable... I wanted to upgrade from my 4890, but not if I have to pay over $100 for another FC WB. =/
