I think that there might be an issue with where the SATA power and data ports line up. However if you remove the outer "shell" it should work just like any 2.5" drive. Just going off what I heard.

No. Only the HLFS models work in the hotswap bays.

Newegg's first shipment was almost erased completely by pre-orders. They're on their 2nd shipment date for the ETA.

good was hoping that was it, I was just laughing because I can not remember something being on time, Corsair comes through, there was a 20% cash back deal from paypal on orders over 200.00 which would save about 50.00, I better go ahead and pre order than or I will miss out again

Hold your horses man - the first shipments are arriving at customers this week. Unfortunately most of them are already sold due to pre-orders. I completely underestimated demand. No worry though - those of you who didn't pre-order, more units are being shipped out in a couple of weeks.

To be able to say something like this when the economy is in a bit of a downturn must be like an early Christmas for ya, Redbeard.

It's a mixed blessing. The problem is, if I can't get enough units out fast enough, people won't buy it. If I get too many units out too fast, they sit on shelves for months and gather dust and resellers think the product is a dud.

    So it's a bit of a tight-rope.

True. I've been working in retail for quite a while, and I know what you mean. I supervised two different departments and it certainly is a fine line between ordering too much of a product and not enough. Order too many and you have to cut the price when they don't move = bad. Order not enough and too many customers walk away upset and perhaps shop elsewhere.

It's always nice to have healthy demand for a product, though. And if I didn't have the high demand product in stock, if I could at least order it that made a lot of people happy. Doing pre-orders with several different vendors was a great idea. Glad you did it.

Hahaha - we had to re-shoot the video because apparently what we thought was a quiet room has a lot of people walking by and doors opening and closing, etc. I have the video now I just have to find time to do the voice-over to describe this and that and the other.

Cools, thanks for the update. I was just wondering if it had been completely ditched or something. Still looking forward to it... specially since I missed the first batch of Newegg preorders
