I think you got PA LEMON there. Not to worry ... don't give up on flushing!
I have been used at least 12 PA120.3 and 6 PA120.2 ... yep! the white thing is there. Just connect the barb with garden hose and run the tap for 30min each inlet or outlet [best if your tap got hot water] It will run clear If you wanna to shake your rad ... make sure it's half full and full load of arm mussel! Good luck! Cheers!

To be honest, i've gotten frustrated with my PA 120.3 that i put BOILING water, got myself a pair of good ol oven mit... and shook the crap out of it...

Done all of the above. Connected shower and ran hot water through for an hour and also used boiling water. Nothing is shifting this flux. I can see it all over the ends of the cores if I look inside the rad.

I've also tried the boiling hot water approach.

    Update:

So about 25 flushes later and the water is coming out much clearer now, but has very small shiny silvery particles in it.

Also, if I shine a flashlight into the radiator I can see flux stuck to the sides of the end tank. The only thing that shifted it was a plastic straw I put in and used as a scraper.

Does anyone else have this in their end-tanks?

How do we shift that if water doesn't move it and we can't open up the rad to get a brush in?

Any ideas would be most welcome

Well, the only other thing I can think of is to find a local auto parts store (like Halfords) and get yourself some of this.

    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165750

Set up a small loop with just the rad and pump and let it run for a bit. I have no idea what that stuff would do to acrylic so it'd probably be smart to leave all acrylic out of that loop.

Is it safe to use in Thermochill radiators? Is there a product that I can use which doesn't require me to set up a loop for flushing?

I suppose you could use just the rad flush and some really hot distilled/demineralized water @ ~50/50 mix, throw a tube or some plugs on the rad and shake it.

Flushing with boiling water wasn't working the best, and even after water would come out clean through flushing it would still get a little milky after so long while running in a loop. This last time I drained my loop, I did a few flushes with isopropyl and then did a few flushes in which I connected the air compressor to one hole and shot out a ton of milky white liquid out the other end. Thus far, it's seemed to be running clean :]

Contact Steve at Thermochill with your problem. I have three 120.3 rads and did like one mentioned (hooked up a garden hose using an adapter to a sink and ran hot water for about 10 min and flushed it with distilled. It runs clear).

I'm not sure if Steve is still there or not, what with the sale of TC.

I did contact him at the start of the year and he said to use vinegar, but I'm really reluctant to put that stuff in my rads.

It's not going to melt your rad away. Pour it in, give it a shake and see if gunk comes out.

That's exactly what i've done since i bought my PA120.3.
It had some blue gunk left over from my first loop (F1 UV blue), and it wouldn't come out no matter how boiling the water was...

So i filled the damn thing with vinegar, left for 30min, shook the hell out of it and waddya know, it cleaned it right out!

Thanks goes to you other guys, I guess I'll give it a shot. Which kind vinegar did you use twwen2 and Xavior?

Any white vinegar should work. I would stay away from those that are wine, malt, balsamic, rice, etc types.

Go with distilled white vinegar if you go that route. Personally, I wouldn't go longer than 15 min soak and then that would be followed by liberal flushing with distilled/demin water. Do the rad just before you install it and fill the loop ASAP afterwards, so it doesn't get a chance to start oxidizing inside.

I have a PA120.2 that I filled with vinegar and let it sit for about 10 hours, periodically I would run hot water through the fins to heat the thing up. It got the PC ice gunk that was in it out finally without detriment to the radiator and is working fine about a year later.

Thanks. Steve recommended 15 mins also.

What do you mean by the rad oxidizing Waterloggged? I thought the inside was made of brass/copper or am I mistaken?

Copper is like aluminum in the manner that it forms a protective layer when exposed to air. If exposed long enough (think decades, but it can happen much soon if conditions are right), it turns to a green patina which is actually part of the corrosion process. By hitting the copper with vinegar (acid), your exposing fresh copper to the air again and depending on how long you let it sit exposed to the vinegar then air, there is a slight chance you may get a patina in the rad which means you'll have to start all over again. I had it happen with my BIP back when I was but a true n00b.

I've been flushing with ordinary tap water for a month now and I sometimes empty it out and leave it. Will this cause any problems like that?
