CeBIT: Corsair raids the chassis market: competitors beware?

Hi ppl

I have an suggestion for the case
Those plates that cover the CD-Rom 5.25 bays, should be perforated to improve airflow, like you can see for example here on the TT Armor and also with the filters, to try to stop the dust coming in.

What do you think of this idea?

The design idea behind Corsair case is completely different, this would totally not fit it.

Well you might be right. In techincal terms it would be a lot better, due to the better airflow, but i agree, in terms of design it would be not so good.

With 3 spots for 120mm fans at the top of the case creating great airflow won't be an issue anyway it seems.

That TT case needs mesh front because that is where the airflow is coming from, the Corsair case intake is underneath, so it should be sealed as much as possible from the front or dust would get in.

Finally doing more than just taking a quick glance at some of the pictures this time, case looks great... good to hear it is heavy. When I went from steel to aluminum I noticed things like the power supply greatly changing the center of gravity of the case. If you want to take your computer places, get a small case!

I really want to get it, but know it will be expensive, and just bought my Rocketfish... either way, excellent job as always Corsair.

I'm also glad it's heavy. I'm looking for something durable and can take a beating. From what I've heard its going to be $300 or so. Right around what a tj07 is and I like the looks of this case better. Can't wait my hands on this and start up a build.

I'd like to say that this case appears to be the least in need of modification out of the factory I have ever seen. Congratulations on helping bring this baby to market. Of course, I have one question.

The front and rear feet. How are they attached to the bottom/base of the case? From the picture below it appears as if the weight of the case is forcing an opening at the outer edge of each side. Any thoughts on this. The pic below was taken from the vid on the Corsair Support Forums.

The front panel is a little too long forcing the front feet to bend because there is not a flat surface for them to rest upon. Not sure why the back feet are a little crooked.

I would rather keep delaying this thing (if Corsair has the funds to do this) so it is done right. First impressions are everything and I am super excited that a company is actually taking feedback from their customers. Reminds me of MS and Windows 7. Very good business strategy IMHO.

First, the feet are aluminum.

Second, the front panel doesn't touch them and make them crooked. In real life you can see that they are straight - in the images they look a bit crooked but that seems to be based on the angles in the pictures.

From what I can tell in person they seem to be fine.

Yeah the four pre-production samples I've looked at have a slight gap there, but when the side panel is on that gap disappears. They sit flush with the bottom of the case where they are mounted.

not sure I agree with you #4, Intel SSD is tops
but #1 and #5 for sure

Corsair is a great company, they have managed to branch out and improve their customer service at the same time, most companies struggle to do 1 of those

Man, once the P64 comes out, it will be the best pound for pound SSD out there imo. The P128 is better than the X25-M from what I seen in reviews (overall speaking, the Intel SSD's still rock in certain synthetic benchmarks), and it's a lot bigger and about the same price.

The X25-E is the fastest still in certain areas (by FAR), but I dunno if it can be considered the overall best now.

WOW, I love the way this case looks! And I love the fact that the people at Corsair are taking an interest in what the people want. Really makes me very happy to see such involvement from a company. This will be my next case, no doubt about it.
