Well no one if forcing you to use the Corsair unit with its stock fan as apposed to those deltas :P

But wouldn't that defeat the purpose of quitness of the system and yet great perfm? That's what I'm looking out of this: quiter fans with lower rpm yet greater performance.

Asetek made a formal statement about the Corsair H50 product now. They confirmed the newly improved cold plate, and a new 120mm radiator... and Corsair is the first partner to deliver a mainstream product based on it.

It will trickle down to OEM customers (like HP, CyberPower, etc.) as the year goes on... so it's not a Corsair exclusive change.

For reference, here is a quick "original" Asetek LCLC test result: i7 920 @ 4.2 GHz, LinX + Prime95, VCORE @ 1.44V With VDroop (1.4V at load)... 83-80-80-76, Room ambient 27 C. Not spectacular, obviously... but it does it's job.

I got my deltas on a controller, so they're not bad at all. Load on my 4.3 8500 is like 60 with near 1.5V core. They're the tri-blade ones btw.

btw, ~80 @ 4.2 is not bad at all, especially since the H50 will be cooler...

thats amazing results!! just 1 120mm rad + their stock (crap) fan it gets to 83 on linx max with silly high room temp!!! this cooler runs on fairy dust!

After owning a pretty heavy watercooling setup I would feel like such a noob using this. On the other hand you cant fit an Iwaki and a triple rad with six fans in a p180 mini so if it beats the TRUE why not.

You make your own massive copper heatsink with the necessary holes, and you attach four of these to the block LOL

That would undoubtedly be far better in performance than spending half that amount on a DIY watercooling setup and surely be far easier to implement

It would be friggin impossible to do (almost), and the cooling wouldn't even be that great (probably), but it would haul ass...

You would have the 4 units mounted in the corsair case...1 in the back, and 3 on the top

Kyles results seem to be due to a bad product . There is hope yet!

I am having bad results with this H50 unit. It would not run a 965 at 3.6GHz and 1.3vCore without hitting the 100C mark. Corsair is thinking that I got shipped a preproduction sample that was sent to them to verify the tubing covers. I am getting alternating pump speeds and it is supposed to be static, and yes Corsair has tested it on the same mobo.

These corsair units are measly pieces of crap compared to a solid custom watercooled system. And yes you can have a custom water cooled system the makes the corsair its for less than the price of 4 of them.

I'm too lazy to set up a wc rig, and plus i do check out the threads there sometimes, i saw one last night of this dude who had his water become a bunch of gunk. It's too much work imo. I like self contained kits like the H50.

personal preference.

your probably gonna hear the few bad ones cause the average ones are neiher spectacular enough to show off, or caused any problems. so you only see the two extremes. its really quite easy to do WC

i just replaced my video card, and the new one im running on the stock cooler, and old was part of the CPU loop.

so i pulled the card out of the PCIE slot, stuck a paper towel under it. then removed one side and let the water pour out a bit as i anchored it to the case at about the same height (lost probably 3-4 spoon fulls of water into the paper towel) and disconnected the other side and held onto it as i set aside the card, with its block full of water still. then simply connected the two ends. cleaned up by wiping down the area with paper towels and used the vacuum to get some dust any and other moisture in there.

pc booted up just fine, and thats about the dumbest way you could possible mess with a WC loop successfully. its really not as hard or scary as people make it sound. and i think a kit like this will really get people into using WC, even if they never thought about tying it before. but a true setup isnt always about the performance, but the work that goes into it.

Sorry, I just dont see how it can perform better with that handicap.

Even the stock intel cooler can handle a 3.46Ghz i7. Besides, who overlclocks 5-10% on an i7?
Lets se the H50 try to handle a 4-4.2Ghz i7.

I have tried lots of 120mm rads, and from my experience they cant cope with anything resembling high-end CPUs.


Readbeard: How does it look when running 4Ghz and 1.35v ? Your 965 should do that easy.
If you say its still 5-10c better than the TRUE @ 4+Ghz, I gonna take your word for it and order one.
