Yeah for a single core it is but for all four cores Intel will have to try hard.

Wasn't it Intel that promised a Quad-Core nehalem at 7GHz with disabled parts, cause AMD used disabled parts on their first 6GHz clock - oh wait they didn't and Intel haven't delivered yet

Aint comparing a Phenom X4 to an i7 in the same neighbourhood as comparing a Celeron to Phenom X4? i7 is leagues above Phenom X4. Core 2 Quad vs Phenom X4 sure. And Phenom X4 reaches amazing clocks there (If LN2/LH only). However the performance delta between Phenom X4 and i7 is just too huge.

Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

Performance delta in games is just too huge or server space?

Something a little more on topic...
Lynnfield will be the last quadcores from Intel until Sandy Bridge? Am I right? I mean, Sandy Bridge won't be here until the end of 2010 and there will thus be a very long period with no new quad cores from Intel. Oh well, as long as Sandy Bridge will work on socket LGA 1156.

I doubt it will. Have Intel indicated that is the plan?

Maybe and maybe not. Its the last quadcore in terms of "lynnfield segment". However a later Clarkdale type might be quad. Lynnfields replacement is 6 core.

But Intel has thus far only said Gulftown will come to socket LGA 1366, they have not said it would come to socket LGA 1156. Which makes me think that there won't be any desktop quadcore (or 6 core) chip for socket LGA 1156 until Sandy Bridge.

A 6 core for lynnfield replacement is easily over a year away.

I have not seen a single road map from Intel with a Lynnfield replacement on it, except for future promises about Sandy Bridge.

Sadly, AMD's marketing dept. still plays on folks being "hoodwinked". Look at the ads in the lower left corner of the page?

    The ad on the Foxconn page says;

Unlock the power of Black! With the fastest overclocked processors in the world.

"Top overclocked speed: 6.5GHz Base Frequency starting at 2.6GHz.

    http://www.foxconnchannel.com/Produc...lock_lp_03.jpg

Yet flat lies by AMD is OK but that other company is Crucified for anything close to these blatant lies It is pretty said when AMD expects Noobs to fall for such things but to have supposed to be smarter than the Average Geek falling for such loonytoons is lame!

Wow thats a new marketing low. Its one thing to exagerate but to flat out lie? Come on AMD pull your heads out of that dark place...

By the way did you hear, my old AMD 64 3500+ will destroy an i7 920.... when you disable 3 cores and underclock it to 200Hz

Personally I feel they shouldn't even mention overclocking when it involves extreme cooling methods such as LN2. Like honestly how pratical is it to 24/7 a machine on L2N.

I really do hope AMD starts taking some hints from ATIs marketing division. At least they aren't completely out of their minds.

Yeah, Intel's Roadmap has changed as well. i5 and P55 isn't in the same category and seems to be moving up the price scale. Oh well, more of what happens when your competition is weak.

So the P55 boards we see are what?

And Clarkdale/Lynnfield works in the same boards aswell.
