SATA or SATAII i thought the layout of the drives and harddrives made no difference as you change it all around in the bios.
Yeah I agree, I thought nowadays with all of these new boards, I wouldn't have to go about changing what drives are attached to what sata ports.
What mobo drivers do you guys install, I just have the intel inf drivers installed which seemed to have drivers for the ich10 sata ports but that didn't help.

Unfortunately windows 7 won't boot with ahci enabled now that its already installed. I saw some benchmarks that ahci can be slower and more troublesome so i went with the recommended setting of IDE.
I wonder does AHCI get around this problem... ie worth doing a complete reinstall.
OK I will try and live with the problem as is. Maybe a future update for this LG Blu-Ray drive might improve the problem if it is a firmware problem. I thought the OS's job in this situation would still be to allow only certain resources to each device. I mean cpu usage is still very low. Strange that playing a movie from a sata drive while the optical drive is in use causes such problems.
I think this should be possible to solve with proper os drivers....

To the regulars of this thread (me included), my apologies for dragging this into the public.
So you're out buying hardware when you owe me money and have owed me money since December. Seriously, I've given you how many chances to return the parts in the condition you received them or pay the later agreed to price, I do have all the PM's. You've given job excuse, unpaid warrant excuse, and so on and so on.
Pay up, you have my paypal information because I just sent it to you via PM again.

WOW, thanks a million. Well tried AHCI again now (as I didn't notice much difference first time I tried months ago) but all problems are gone with AHCI. I know some sites say its a small bit slower, but some also say its faster... In my case i can now transfer from optical drive and access hdd's all at once and no stuttering or weirdness like with IDE.
I would recommend AHCI to everyone.
Simply opened .reg file from that site you gave me and installed latest beta intel matrix drivers for Win 7 from http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driv...rmation/11963/
A few reboots later and everything working fine as far as I can tell. Thanks again.
