it we be good if we could use the weekend![]()
guys Vince already modified the finish date like 2 times bcoz of XS downtime, i pushed 01 in last 2 days like many hours and i still not reached the score i wanted but actually it doesnt matter, you could do results for fun after the competition as well and i guess everybody will, and thats the point... like Oliver says keep 2k1ing it
btw very nice run gprhellas, congrats![]()
May 8th midnight eastern standard time is when the teks gets awarded, of course you guys can keep pushing it afterwards though![]()
got some LN2 but i dont think i'll need it
will hit the benchroom tonight regardless
i want to see a half decent score from this damn card![]()
okay my story
here we are on the final day and it seemd like a week ago i couldnt make any competitive result for the dual top5, i had a terrible RE, 600fsb not fully 3dstable on air only on 2d (like Bills banana edition lol) and my DA1200 psu died also, but i got new psu and RE and its luckily a nice one, so now only gpu is limiting me on air... like an hour ago something happend with nature, it seems only one gpu works for now and im almost sick of it, pushing since 2 days, so i think i got my final score with GTX 295. i will try something for fun with 4890 later but sadly i dont have dice or ln2 atm...
my run order, different lod for every tests, D3D, nHancer, running CL like 6-7 times to get the best score, pcie 117mhz (above bsod right away i boot into windows), PL8, 200strap, 3:5 divider
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9493182
keep the results coming guys, its already countdown![]()

SS wasnt able to give me even 1150Mhz in nature so i dont have anything decent to compete with here hehe
GL fellas
hmm i7 + 4890? how about nature?![]()

vince , i'll got my E8600 + my ddr2 GMH modules . would mind chaning the contest time and extend it ?
( maybe 7*600 for CPU and 1200 mhz 4-4-4-12 for memory will be good )
Thanks![]()

Things didn't worked that good for me either! It seems that this bloody Nehalem is a very limiting factor for Nature score. So, yesterday, equiped with my trusty i7 920 C0 @ 4800MHz uncore speed with RAM @ 1600MHz 6-6-6-18-44-1T (Micron D9JNM) I began testing with GeForce GTX275 on LN2. The CPU was on SS to obtain that uncore speed.
I runned in the order DL-LL-DH-LH-CL-CH-N (after that I repeated CL if I got a bad run) + D3D Overrider + LOD. I got very good frames in all the tests (due to high uncore, driver tweaks and very tight RAM subtimings - TRFC=44) except Nature (goddamn X58 motherchipset
).
The problem was that the Nature scaled very well with VGA on air (8-10fps each 10MHz on GPU) but from a point above (760-770MHz) the gain was significantly lower (4-5fps each 10MHz on GPU) and decreasing as the frequency got higher. Well, I thought why this happened and the only logical explanation that came into my head was that 4200Mhz on a Core i7 isn't enough for the GTX275 to unleash it's full potential in Nature. At 780Mhz GPU clock I got like 1100fps and at 840Mhz something around 1126fps....
I keeped trying different tricks and higher frequency but still the Nature sucked. The score I saved isn't the best one I've seen but I post it here for posterity
! With the frames I got in this score and IF the Nature was at 1200fps the score would have been 90700-90800.....
Best regards,
matose

Born to lose, live to win!
I have played ~5035MHz Northbridge speed and ~1089-1093MHz rams at 7-7-7-20-1T on the Bloodrage and I got bulls with the Nehalem...![]()

George, what VGA card and what Nature did you get?![]()
Born to lose, live to win!
With the 4870 at 1150MHz, I had wierd Nature scores....From 1026 to 1080fps depending on the multi of the CPU and trying to keep the Rams and the QPI at almost the same frequencies....ONLY by playing with the multipliers, I was getting different fps.....Wierd!....
With the GTX295 (on air and for testing before I put the 4870), I had the same wierd behavior....![]()

Well, as George said, ATI deals a very hard game in Nature on i7, even with the system tricks he told us about a few weeks ago (NB frequency) - thank you very much hipro for pointing the benefits of Uncore overclocking in 2k1, that helped A LOT.
On the other hand....the green side brings us into the 9xk's. I am dying here with Micutzu for more LN2. Please ship us a full tank, we are going low on LN2 now...and 1GHz GPU is not a problem...We needz more LN2....

sad to hear about issues hipro and dinos i would love to see some 'fresh blood' from both of youfor sure you've already made pretty damn nice effort for this challenge
Monstru and Micutzu, this is insane with i7 over 90kfinally i7 with D0 seems compeditive for win, really exciting
cant wait to see the final score, hope ln2 will hold out for you
