Apple sorry for 'Baby Shaker' app

Apple has apologised for a "deeply offensive" iPhone application called Baby Shaker, which made a game of quieting crying babies by shaking them.

It removed the $0.99 (£0.59) game from its iTunes Store on Wednesday, two days after it went on sale.

It sparked outrage from children's groups and brain injury foundations.

The vetting process relly seems to suck...

Carebears. If you're dumb enough to shake your kid because an iPhone application says so, you shouldn't have a child in the first place, and you're probably going to end up killing it one way or other, sooner or later.

I remember years ago parents would toss their kids in the air. They just didn't know the potential damage they could do..Times change and we learn.
Agreed on this that Apple sort of stepped on their "richard" with this one.

Baby shaking is a fun, family friendly activity according to Apple.

Yeah, mean ol' Apple. Someone should really shut them down.

Honestly, who cares? It's supposed to be funny, not an instructional app.

Unfortunately, my iPod touch got stolen before I saw it. I wonder if it was any good.

I agree that its nothing to seroius, but it seems bizzar that apple block perfectly good apps, yet allow thing like this to slip thorugh the net

Honestly, I normally laugh at stuff like this.... but shaken baby syndrome is one of the most disgusting acts and it p***** me off that there are people out there who do this to defenseless babies.

On another note, doesn't apple screen all of their apps? How did this get through?

slightly OT: tossing your kid in the air is bad? My dad used to do that with me all the time, caught me 99% of the time too! (this was age 5+) Was fun as hell... Today's kids are waaay to coddled.

Kind of a disturbing app, I'm more surprised that Apple approved it though. Considering the quality stuff that Apple has said no to for political/corporate reasons, to let this through...

it's shaken baby syndrome... at 5+, your cranium is alot more developed and can protect your brain from the stress...
