By "HOT HW" you mean your HD4870 is hot because you overclocked it?

And the masses see 3dmark first 1280 x 1024 is definitely the measure of how good a GPU is !!!!!! NOT

that extreme preset result is VERY promising though....

With all the Radeon bashing OBR is doing I would take those results with a grain of salt.
    1. 1280x1024 is simply to low
    2. Rumors are surfacing of a GTX 275 to compete with the 4890
    3. Vantage incorporates the use of physx in the cpu benchmarks which does effect the overall score

Welcome AMDus Rebrandus, ONE year of waiting for Oced HD4870! Great success (okay, tested with no official and oddity drivers - results are not final)!
Performance is really between GTX 260 (216) and GTX 280 - ideal for GTX 275!

PS. Not tested by me, but friend!
1- Your position as reviewer should be impartial.
2- You are a Nv fanboy.
3- Looks like tests where from friend and without drivers.
4- AMDus Rebrandus? You need some reality check. Cut the crap and go buy one 8800GTS 512Mb or 9800GTX or 9800GTX+ or GTS250 in it's four consecutive rebranding.

Lay off the fanboy-calling m8. It only makes things worse.

@ OBR, we don't need posts like that from you either.

I will say what I have been saying for weeks now.

    WAIT FOR APRIL 6TH.

Let the price war begin, I sold my 9800GTX+ and will need a new card mid april ! we got plenty of power coming it seems in the 250 buck market !
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

i see no sign of enabled PhysX here. The CPU-Score would be much higher

Darn, after i thought he has somehow got some sanity, OBR proved me wrong yet again with another trolling, attention seeking post of his, what a shame.

There are new drivers coming out next week that will have increased performance for the Radeon 4890 cards, which will invalidate all current benchmarks that have leaked out.

More details will be unveiled next week at the Game Developers Conference. DailyTech will be testing the card this weekend.
Quoted from the link in the post above mine. Interesting if true, I guess we will have to wait and see...

Anandtech, has become really pro ATI lately.

Those crossfire results don't look too promising. Doesn't look like an upgrade to a 4890x2 is going to be necessary at all.

Just buy cheap 4870x2 when they come on to the market.

4890 is not VTEC powered anymore

Uncore clock and/or uncore voltage anyone?

What exactly are you referring to? Can't read much bias into that article. They say it will probably be less expensive than GTX280/5 and that performance will most likely go up with newer, more mature drivers. Nothing more to say about that, seems like reasonable conclusions/assumptions.

I'm looking forward to these cards, but maybe a RV740 is a better buy.
