On sale @ Microcenter for $39.99

    http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0283272

If you live near a Microcenter store, you can choose the 'In-store Pickup' option for shipping and get it a lot faster than UPS would deliver it. Saves on the shipping charges, too. A great case for $40.

    Dear Antec 300 owners;

could anyone measure the distance from the top to start of the motherboard? I'm thinking of buying it, and installing a MCR320+fans in the top, but I think the radiator will hit the rams. Rad+fan = 59mm.

Can you rephrase that? I'm not sure what you'd like to have measured. What do you mean be "top to start of the motherboard?"

On this photo the 140mm fan seems flush with the motherboard tray, so assuming it's a standard 25 mm the red line should be blue + 25 mm.

    Hi all. My first post.

How did you fit IO shield on that Biostar TPower?

I have Antec 300 and Biostar Tpower I45 - IO shield did not fit. I had to shorten my standoffs from 6mm to 4mm. Some 2mm!

But then of course video card did not enter pci express slot fully!!!

Since Asus P5Q-e fits perfectly I say Biostar did measurement WRONG!
    Returned board !

    PS
Also heard DFI X58 mb doesnt fit case - seems standoffs are too small - NB screws behind mb are too big.

I just left the audio jacks shifted to where they wanted to be behind the IO shield. They definitely messed up their measurements on that plate. My other boards fit perfectly.

So you needed to bend IO shield?
I returned board to the shop.

I thought I was going crazy!
People said they had no problem with other cases! Perhaps they had bigger standoffs and used smaller. But then again my video card didnt enter pciexpress slot fully when I shortened standoffs.

Anyway, case is nice, though 3.5 in drive bays are unusable to me. Too much vibrations. I mounted HDD (WD 640 AAKS) in 5,25 bay - used some scythe anti vibration kit.
But then again, I see all SSD are 2,5 inch! So mounting these in 3,5inch drive would be no problem (once their price comes down of course)

I really like cable management system!
My Corsair TX650 has tons of cables - they all fit nicely, no mess!

Is it OK to put PSU so that the fan is facing down?
I put it so; noticed no problems with such setup.

Nope, no bending. The audio jacks aren't very deep. They just sat behind. I wouldn't have the fan facing down. There isn't much room for airflow between the bottom of the PSU and the bottom of the case.

jbl2226h - that looks SWEET! I love the finish of the acrylic paint, a much nicer finish than mine. I thought it was powdercoated when I first saw it - I also admire the cablegami, very nice job all round.

    Quick update on mine.

    Firstly the HD mounting as someone asked about them;

The HDs sit on foam, and have foam wedged above them, holding the aluminium 'heatsinks' in place, which obviously holds the HDs vertical and steady too. There is space around the HDs so cooling is great and noise is nonexistant.

Then a PSU update - makes things uglier and cable neatness takes a back seat, but it's a bigger badder model and the fan helps a little with airflow too, so why not?

Finally a graphics card update. Sorry for the poor picture, I just slid the case forward to fit the card and do a little hoovering (obviously pic was taken before cleaning - just look at that TRUE!)

Mugs, you have almost the same setup as I have, major difference is that I have my two hard drives mounted in Smart Drive coppers, the only downside (as I see it) with the setup, is that it isn’t that service friendly, however; its very quiet which was my main goal. Oh, and I had to move the right side of the hard drive cage to the right (view your picture) to get the space needed, would have liked to put up some pictures but my camera is busted and I have yet to receive the replacement.

    Edit:

yeah, I thought I'd remember taking some pictures prior to painting the case and here are the two I found (hard drive "cage" "modded")

I'm thinking core i7 + TRUE + Antec 300 + tons of fans = One hell of an OC.

I'm so temped to do this, but I think I can hold out for westmere.

Anyone running an i7 in one of these?

    I will, ordered today.

Just wondering, does the 140mm fan on top suck air into the case, or is it the other way round?

It's reversible, so you can have it either way just by unscrewing it and turning it over as it has mounting holes on both sides. By default I think it blows out.

yay, received my antec 300 today, and it is awesome, core I7@4Ghz does not exceed 72°C on Noctua Air Cooling.

However, the inbuilt fans are quite noisy in my opinion, are there any other you would recommend?
will upload some pictures tomorrow =)

    Regards,
    Michael

finally found time and my USB Cable to upload two pictures,
I´ve been wondering if the fan between the Noctua and the and the case rear fan does make sense
