Don't use Catalyst 9.1 - it's basically what the marketing guys released to appease the users. It's got no improvements and breaks all hardware accelerated playback of HD materials (H264 / VC1) - even Cyberlink PowerDVD won't be able to accelerate HD contents via Avivo. Only MPEG2 / DVD hardware acceleration works.

9.2 should be the one they've been working on for some time - that is, if AMD marketing nincompoops don't try to be smart a*s*s again.

DXVA is working fine here. They broke it only in XP.

The most important purpose of new version of code is to bring additional stability and features (bug fixes and tweaks mostly). Any increase in performance is a bonus IMHO. It doesn't appear there is any reason to move to 9.1 unless you are having problems with the version you are currently using.

I've been lucky so far, i didn't have so much bugs, cept for GTAIV...
