    EK Fullcover for GTX 285 launched

    Just saw that EK has launched their full cover block for Nvidia GTX 285. Already ordered mine...

    There are standoffs.
    I tested the fit yesterday and the standoffs work perfectly
    For expert users standoffs are not necessary.
    First blocks will be available in 7 days.

    Are those plastic (or even delrin) standoffs with double sided tape?
    I bet that saves a lot of cost for copper machining

    I don't have a GTX285, but I just wanted to say that this is outstanding considering the things just came out not that long ago. I don't know if they had access to one of these cards before release (not everyone does), but even if they did, that's still very fast on design, and getting them machined.

    Way to go EK!

    I wish EK would make an all copper one.
    I know water doesn't run through the aluminium and it cools sufficiently but it just screams cheap to me and I don't care for it.

    the mosfet cooling plate is a bolt on piece of aluminum, this is for ek so that they mill one block design and can make the GTX 260 and the 285 block at the same time.

    I can't see any savings when you compare copper/aluminum EK blocks to other brands all copper. The all copper ones (xspc) are often lower priced.

    I like Ek blocks and would buy one if not for the aluminum.

    I would have liked a full copper block like the GTX 280 and 4870x2 blocks but I'm sure it would have increased the costs.

    The power regulation part is aluminum.

    "High performance VGA water block for GeForce 285 GTX refference design series graphic cards. Base is made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper. Top is made of quality acrylic glass. The sealing is preformed by quality rubber washer. Block is mounted with enclosed M2,5 screws. Additional pšart for mosfet cooling is made of black anodizated aluminum."
