Sorry Folks, I know someone got this to work but I wasn't testing Win7 at the time so I didn't pay much attention. Now I can't seem to find the thread...

You need to use Orca MSI editor to change the launch condition to 1=1 then save and run modified MSI. It works fine for 2.1.5 on Win 7 (and Server 08).

Daveburt, copy your installed AOD folder from another PC and move it to your Win7 PC. that will work Im using it now on Win7
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

This is correct, it is a self contained app.

I have 2.1.4 installed in XP 32 bit and it works without problems in Win7 64 bit. I use it from XP's folder (I install every program to D: )

I have it but I don't know where you can get it... I tried to look for it once and didn't find it.

Any idea when AOD 3.0 is due out with Phenom II support? I know it works now, but it'd be nice to have official P2 support.

Also someone posted a Windows 7 fix for AOD, see http://www.filefactory.com/file/a03e..._Overdrive_rar

I havent tried it but this was over on the official forums @ game.amd.com

Oh, sorry, That was just the plain 2.1.4...it is the one that doesn't have strange clocks showing etc... I have the Windows 7 mod too, if you need it..

Hey Charged, that was actually the 2.1.5 version as far as I can tell, I'm looking for 2.1.4...

The folder copy thing worked, but I had to take the file off the HTPC which has a dual core and the highest AOD I can get off of it is 2.0.17...

Could you post up the 2.1.4 MSI file for me?

I have it on my XP install but it would be a hassle to get to (swapping cables etc)...

The 2.1.4 folder would probably work as well (but it might be too big), if I could get the MSI file I could mod it using Orca and get it to install.

    Thanks. Dave

Well, I switched the cables, copied the 2.1.4 folder to a flash drive and copied it to the "Programs/AMD/OverDrive" folder and everything is working fine, with the version I wanted, Finally!!

I also compressed it with WinRar (~6Mb) with the hopes that I could make life easier for other folks to install it on Win7... My only problem now is I don't know of a good "FREE file hosting site"...

I uploaded it to MediaFire, but it spams you to death (almost as bad as ImageShack does with pics ).....

I don't know of a good "free" FileHost, so if anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears!

Anyway, you may have to jump through a few hoops, but heres the link for the full "AOD 2.1.4 folder":
    http://www.mediafire.com/file/zirzmd...14_forWin7.rar

Download it, and put the "OverDrive" folder in "C:Program Files/AMD" and you should be ready to go using Windows 7 and AOD 2.1.4....

Of course you can always copy a shortcut from there and put it where you want...
