Assuming you mean a Jedi, Dark. Nothing like a good bit of Force Lightning, and not having to feel bad about the odd Force Push off an edge.

What pump do you think I'd be needing to get decent flow through a car radiator and 2-4 CPU blocks (XSPC Delta V3's, so decently free-flowing)? Should I go for one powerful pump, or multiple weaker pumps?

I'd go for one quad, dual Xeons might be cooler but I'd think they're more of a pain to get working the way you want.

Now that s0lid and karl both have just over 1,000 posts, who do you think is going to reach 2,000 posts first?

Me But probably not by much

Hmm if I have all the CPU blocks running in parallel (or mostly parallel), think I'd be able to get by with a dB-1 for each CPU block? So there would be one tube coming from the radiator, splits into 2-4 separate tubes, each of which has their own dB-1 and CPU block, and then they all join back up again to go to the radiator. Or something like a D5 per 2 blocks (since I can fit two PCs per shelf)?

Assuming that benching includes WCG, PII, since we've already seen a fair bit of X58 action.

Now someone answer my previous question, biatch!

I would say with a Iwiki 30 high pressure you could do a 4x manifold out of PVC with 4 1/2" nipples out and the same on the return so you are not running warm water over the next cpu down the line.

I don't remember if it was fallwind or windforce that posted the big rad project like this. I do know Bob123 did one also.
    Who was the other one?

Problem with the Iwaiki is the price. US$216-266 for an RD-20 from Petra's (AU$300-350) plus shipping, and then another AU$50-60 for a 24v power supply, so say about AU$450-500 for one pump (including shipping). D5's, on the other hand, are about AU$150 a pop (or less if I buy a few from the US), so I'm looking at 3 or so of them for the same money as an RD-20 (and the RD-30 is another AU$75-ish on top of the RD-20). If I do 2 blocks per D5, that's 6 rigs easy. If I go the dB-1 route, that's about AU$65 per rig (one pump per CPU block), so AU$450-500 gets us 7-8 dB-1's for the same price as an RD-20. Not to mention if a dB-1 fails it only takes out one rig, not all of them Fallwind's setup makes me think the D5's would work, and if a D5 can do 2-3 rigs, a dB-1 might be able to do 1 CPU block without dying.

Rather than cluttering up here with my ramblings/thought process, I should start a thread in the LC board

Is it worth upgrading my X-Fi Xtreme Audio to something better?
It depends on what you're wanting out of the card. If it's music/movies/whatever, then it'll probably suit you fine. If you want great positional sound, EAX, etc, then you might find it worthwhile upgrading to a higher-end X-Fi or an Asus Xonar.

Does anyone else find that when they're planning a project, it's often all they can think about for a few days to a week?

Wait for I5 or pick up i7 close to release of i5 and it should be much cheaper.

How small will processors get (ie:45nm) before they hit the bell curve in relation to doubling the computing power?

Wait for the price drop and get another i7 for now.

Ninja: I think 25nm with out a new process is about as tight as they can go. The pipes start leaking into each other after 35 iirc from what i read.

Air or water cooling on a dedicated cruncher?

Tough call Air wont OC as well so less PPD but is typically never having the possibility of leaking.... it can also make you pee more too if you have a week balder and also have insomnia.

What goes well with barbecues (ground meat fried, mixed with tomato sauce, ketchup, green peppers, chilly powder)? Aside from the obvious of beer and beans.
