    Vapor's Club Sandwich....now Rev 1.1!

Okay...so awhile ago I bought one these to play with:

It already has a name though...H20-220 Compact

And I wanted to modify it a little bit...I really liked the two-part form factor (it's an external 'play' unit...so the lack of pump and res is really beneficial ).

But I wanted to take it a step further...so I improvised and also removed all external moving parts (no damn fans to get my fingers chopped up in!)

    Oh yeah...and that's just Rev. 1

So any ideas for a name for it? I have some performance numbers somewhere in my Documents folder...well, a few .XLSX files filled

How do you make sure the MCR320 is bled fully? I'd bet there'd be a huge air bubble at the top if you always keep that res/220 upright.

As for a name, I haven't the slightest idea.

So far I'm definitely liking "Vapor Being Bored Rev. 1"

FWIW, the shrouds are 19mm thick fans that I removed the giblets from. 25mm required screws that were too long to get 'into' the San Aces

Rev. 2 will be a big step closer toward overkill

Bleeding took time, that's for sure...fortunately it's fully external so I can bleed it, fill it, and position it in any and all orientations until it's just right (basically have to make sure the entire loop is full before you even turn the pump on and then let it work).

I reversed the flow order since I took that picture and it was a lot easier to bleed that time

    Some performance numbers are below

Average of 2 mounts on the TRUECu (from my HSF testing), 3 for the WC systems.

I tested 10 fan configs for the VBBr1, but the notation for expressing it is a little difficult....here's the best I've come up with: a 0+1, 1+0, 1+1, 2+0, and 2+1. All at 1300RPM and then again at 2500RPM.

    0+1 = 0 sandwich fans, 1 outside fan
    1+0 = 1 sandwich fan, 0 outside
    1+1 = 1 sandwich, 1 outside
    2+0 = 2 sandwich, 0 outside
2+1 = 2 sandwich, 1 outside (all three fans on)

    For the graphs below, 1+0 = single, 2+0 = dual, 2+1 = tri

H20-220 was in pull, shroudless, stock fans....single fan results should emulate an H20-120. TRUECu was in pull for single fan and push/pull for dual fans....Noctua P12 was used for 1300RPM fan, S-Flex Fs were used for 1600RPM fans, UK2s were used for 2000RPM fans, Panaflo U1As were used for ~2500RPM fans. Because the fans aren't consistent throughout (TRUECu testing was for a HSF roundup I did...just felt like carrying the data over for comparison reasons and changing out the San Aces in the sandwich is a veritable PITA), there is some fuzziness in the data to be considered

    Sustained load:

    Peak load:

...I'll go copy over my methodologies from my HSF comparison thread, the datalogging techniques were identical throughout

(and fwiw, the TRUECu is a really, really good aircooler....a lapped TRUE is pretty far behind and that's was known as the 'best' until the TRUECu came out )

Changed name to Vapor Club Sandwich r1 in the graphs, my favorite so far

EDIT: uploading the graphs with the correct title now...here's the thread with all the testing info goodness http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=209230
